    Cookbook is the premier specialised plugin for custom crafting and smelting recipes. Craft gold bars from stone, diamonds from grass and much, much more! Cookbook allows the creation of recipes in an easy-to-understand recipes file - simply create the recipe, reload the plugin and you're done! Cookbook affects the crafting and smelting tables directly - no more workarounds or other weird methods. It can override the default recipes too - just copy the recipe and specify a custom result.

    Cookbook allows the customisation of the crafting recipes used in a workbench and smelting. Let's take for example the recipe for torches - a stick with oil on top. With Cookbook, I could make it so a stack of 35 torches were made if I put obisidan on top of said stick in the crafting area. I could make a 9x9 recipe of dirt blocks create diamond. If I wanted to smelt coal from saplings, I'd just specify that in the recipes file. In short, Cookbook allows the creation of workbench crafting and smelting recipes, completely user-configured, to give a specified resulting stack.

    Using data ranges for repair recipes:
    In 1.4, the repair recipe feature was added. To use this, all you have to do is put 'X' as the damage value, and any data value for that item will be accepted as valid.

    Crafting recipes (open)
    To configure cookbook, open the cookbook.recipes file. Inside the file are a few custom recipes already configured, and you can change/add/delete them if you like. The way new ones are created is like so.
    A workbench is a 3x3 slot area, filled with air. To represent this in a file, we use a 3x3 grid of numbers, separated by commas. Each number represents the item id that would go into that slot on a crafting bench to produce your recipe. 0 is air (nothing). So, we get this:

    4th line.

    The data values for each line are separated by the ';' - the first number on the right corresponds to the data value of the first item on the left. Note that 'X' is a valid data value, allowing any data value to be used in that square.

    The fourth line is the result (what you get when you have this configuration). It is formatted like so: the item id is on the left, the stack amount is in the middle, and the data value is on the far right. For example - to configure a stack of 64 sticks, I would put 280:64:0 on the fourth line. These four lines constitute a recipe.

    Let's do an example. I want to use a stick in the middle of the bench to get a stack of 24 apples.

    0,280,0,;0,0,0, - a stick must be in the middle of this line

    260:24:0 - the result is a 24-stack of apples.

    See the included recipes file for information on Shapeless recipes. Use the @Shapeless identifier before a recipe to make it shapeless - for example

    Will make this recipe shapeless - stone can be placed anywhere to get the desired result.
    Furnace Recipes (open)
    Furnace recipes are a lot simpler thankfully :).
    Furnace recipes have two lines: the first line is for the ingredient, the second is for the result.
    The first line is simply the id of the ingredient used in smelting. The second line is separated into 3 sections by ':'s.

    The first section defines the id, the second the data value and the third the custom cooktime.
    Let's do an example - cobblestone to sand.

    4, -the ingredient is cobblestone.
    12:0:0 - results in sand, no data value, no change to cooktime.

    Pretty simple right? The cooktime value is used for extra customisation of the time it takes for one block to be smelted (the progress arrow's speed). Normally, this is incremented from 0 - 200, by 1 each time. In cookbook, you can add extra values onto this. Note the caveat: these will only change cooktime while the window is open.

    And that's it for furnace recipes. Negative values are possible, but will be capped at
    -0.999999... otherwise the recipe will never complete.

    Wait, so does this just grant the ability to modify default recipes, or create completely new blocks, with new uses and pictures and all that? :eek:

    Link given to try, tried, not working with craftbukkit build 670.

    Can we get permissions, so that players cant do the list command, my server was having fun trying to learn the recipes.... until they found out you can type the list command! :(

    You can deny default recipes and create new ones. That's it. You can not create any new blocks.

    Client-side for 1.4 still doesn't work (Dled from your link).

    Ohhh... I see why it doesn't work... it's not updated for _01 yet. I'll change the recipe thingy ASAP.

    It just repeats the same operations to add the recipe, though on the client side. You could try redownloading the client mod now to see if it works. Also, if you get 1.39 again the numbers for /recipe now start from 1 and invalid numbers won't work.

    /cookbook [f]recipe 0 work (as in it's an invalid number)

    /cookbook [f]recipe 1
    Displays item #2 (index 1). Doing /cookbook recipe 1, in a list of only ONE item, tosses the previous server errors. I don't know what the code is like in the jar, but would assume all that's needed is to reduce the input value by 1, then fetch the item from the recipe list.

    Pardon my causing you any headaches! :)

    Ahh, quick update. /cookbook recipe 1 now does show the first recipe.
    However! (erg...)
    /cookbook frecipe 2 reports "That recipe does not exist"
    I only have 2 frecipes, and only 1 recipe... so I couldn't test it much further than that.

    Is there any way that we can get a config option to hide the ability for people to view recipe list? I really do like the idea of releasing the new recipes once a week and having the players try to find them out. Like secret update fridays!

    Also, is the main links updated or are you using temp links for the most recent files?

    Furnace recipes work for me with positive values, not with negative ones. +50 speeds up a lot but -0.5 or even -0.9 does nothing. Tried minecraft 1.3 and 1.4 with different versions of craftbukkit (newest too) also with diff. versions of your mod. /cookbook frecipes gives me output of frecipes with minus values that i set in conf. file of frecipes so it should just work, but it doesn't.

    Changing damage to 1 just gives me damaged item on glass for example.

    Also question - will be possibility to have 1+ amount of source item to be burned for 1 output ? like 4 sand -> 1 glass?
    And also possibility to have wood/coal and other sources of power to burn for longer time ?

    It's a very slight effect (harder to notice). Mmmm, possible, but irritating. I'll look into it, but I may wait for the official Minecraft API.

    Ok, just checked with value of -0.9 and -0.5 (it should be 10% of normal speed and 50% of normal speed) and it SLOWS down burning time, but both work like -0.5 :
    0.0 -> gave me output of 8 stone from 1 coal
    -0.5 -> gave me output of 4 stone from 1 coal (it's working good here)
    -0.9 -> gave me output of 4 stone frome 1 coal (not working here as it should give like 0.8 stone per 1 coal)

    I will be really happy for check, thanks for developing this mod :)

    Not sure what checks minecraft takes to prevent slowing down, so that may be the issue there I guess.

    ok, so i downloaded ga.class and ko.class and put them into minecraft.jar (i had no meta.inf folder, since i alrdy deleted it some time ago) But it still doesnt work. The recipes do, but not the result display. What am i doing wrong?

    Hmmm... not sure - it broke when 1.4 came out.

    @Strebelschneck - actually, try redownloading from the same link. I added something that I forgot to, may work now.

    EDIT: Now it works, I restarted the server once again + put the new .class files not only in the minecraft.jar, but also in minecraft-1.3_01.jar, minecraft-1.4.jar and the minecraft-1.4_01.jar.

    Now I get "Handshake received, retrieving recipes from server..." when i log in, but the result is still not displayed.
    But thank you for your effort, i really appreciate it.

    They should all work on 531, 570 doesn't actually break much.

    No need for the client mod in 1.4 :D.

    Ok,
    it seems some things did not get into the plugin so far.

    Id like to see
    - Item Count for input Items so i can say you have to use 9 full stacks for 1 item to come out.
    - repair Items

    And if you like, maybe have a look at craftdispenser, that one for now can handel both thinks, no matter how much damaged an item is or what count you give it for the needet mats to craft something.

    Id like to get rid of it for now, cause it well is not fitting my style (-; and id like to switch fully to this one.

    Any chance in the future to give certain recipes to only certain groups via Permissions? This would be really nice for an RPG Server. (Armorsmith, botanist, etc.)

    Thanks for all that you do, this is such a great plugin.
