I dont know if this has been done yet, but I would think a language filter for the chat would be an EPIC idea. On my server there is a wide range of player age, and its disgusting what some people say. I hate banning because of language, so what if we had a plugin that fired when a message was recieved, but before it is sent to players that looks in a flatfile for a list of badwords and uses a regex expression to block the message or replace the word with ***** I think this idea is ****ing bas***!! If it is allready out there let me know, I need it! Also, I would make it but Ive been too busy with other things at work lately! If no one gets to it before things slow down for me, then Ill get started on it!
I know its been done with either iChat or HeroChat ( i use them both and i have the filter on) for me i hate it cause i like to cuss but if your looking for it check there both are great chat plugins.
Elaborating on what unrivaledneo said: iChat supplies a censorship feature as you're suggesting, as well as a few other basic chat additions. If you're looking for a more comprehensive channel-based chat system which fully supports iChat and its language filter, you should look into HeroChat.
