[WIP] TwitterToChat - Follow twitter ingame

~Fetch Twitter feeds and display them ingame ~ ​

As this may be my first post, I've been around here for quite some time. Some may know me from the IRC, some may have never heard of me .​

After some thinking I wanted to come up with a useful, small plugin. Just so I can prove (to myself) that I can make a useful plugin.​

I found there was another Twitter plugin, but that was chat to twitter, this is the other way around .​

To do (priority 1)​

• Config file where you fill in the username of the person you want to follow (default Craftbukkit)
• Ingame command to fetch current tweet (probably /ttc)
• Auto check for new tweet and display it

To do (priority 2)

• Multiple accounts to follow
• Permissions support (who sees tweets) (maybe twittertochat.seefeed )
• Ingame command to fetch current tweet for specified account (eg /ttc wh1tebird)

Notes:

• Can't release current build as my external library won't load Managed to load it, first source and build will be published tomorrow.
• I'm using this library : Twitter4j
• The other plugin I was talking about : ServerEvents
• I will host this source on Git (Figuring out how to use eGit in Eclipse)

Thanks ^^ My goal is that people are updated of the latest status of bukkit, or maybe your own servertwitter.

 

This would be great for following Notch, that way all players ingame can see what he writes too

 

That's what i'm aiming for; follow someone who twitters frequently, (or multiple twitterers), and start a discussion or something

 

Any idea on when you might finish?

 

i will 100% use this when released

 

Due to personal reasons, i cannot release this for the upcoming months. When the second semester of this year starts i'll have another look at it. sorry :/

 

suggestion: When you have implemented multiple twitter accounts, can you make it so that they can have different colors and preffix and suffixes?? thx keep up the good work
