I think it would be nice if weather were generated randomly depending on altitude (so high mountains look snowy) but but otherwise ignoring biomes and just snowing and raining randomly so at some points in time you have a snowy landscape and others green land. I would love for something like this: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99202sid=e7098eb33a0258947d9a59e21afb2926 but realize its a lot to ask for all at once. Don't know how hard it would be to ignore the biomes but i'm just suggesting so please don't get mad at me for just speaking my mind.
