Spawn protection help?

    I've tried to protect an area around my spawning place (after it its survival mode).
    But i can't /don't know how to do it.
    I even tried to enter in config spawn-protection= 16
    but that didn't do anything.

    Help please?

    Plugin list please... Bukkit doesn't have every idea you've thought of built into it, you need plugins.

    essentials protect? Isn't it only protecting signs/rails.. Not areas.. Use worldguard or Alerter :)
