    MOVED TO DEV BUKKIT:
    News

    v2.4.2 Released - 9/24/2011
See the change log for details.
Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.
As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.
This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.

    Residence Signs (by KarnEdge)

NOTE: All Residence usage information has been moved to the wiki!

    About:
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)
    • Recursive Sub-zoning. Create zones within zones, and then zones within those zones...
    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.
    • (Optional) Permissions support.
    • In-game help / commands descriptions

    • Added "piston" flag.
    v2.3.4

    • Fixed bug related to default group option in the config.
    • Fixed global "container" flag bug.
    • Fixed some NPE's related to explosions.
    • Added /resload command to load the save file after you make changes to it (UNSAFE, as it does not save residences first, and so you may loose new residences that were just created)
    v2.2
    • Added per residence Blacklist/Ignorelists that will allow you to specify certain block types to be ignored from residence protections, or unable to be placed in residences.
    • Added Server owned land, use /resadmin server <residence> to change the owner to "Server Owned"

    v2.1
    • BOSEconomy support.
    • Essentials Economy support.
    • RealShop Economy support.

    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.
    • New Developer API, including custom Bukkit events.

Maybe have a look at this bit in your config. What number under default is their subzone allowance?

Note; I now know exactly what you want to do, but I'm not sure how to do it, soz.

They are both set to 100. If you don't know how to do it, that is fine, I have some other ways I could go about doing it, although they are not favourable.

I guess I will throw some suggestions then, if possible. Subzones within subzones, or allowing users to set seperate flags for when you make a new area from a certain residence.

You can have subzones within subzones
Just cuboid an area inside a subzone and create a new subzone.

  5. So i'm not an admin and i can still destroy and build on demand.
I think it might be a plugin issue so these are my used plugins:
BlockHead, Citizens, Craftbook (all), Easyrules, FlowSwitch, Glassdrop,
HiddenDoor, iConomy, Jail, LocalShops, MotherNature, MultiInv, Multiverse,
NSCommand, Permissions (duhh), OPImmunity, PortalStick, properTime,
RemoteDet, Residence (<--- this seems to be an awesome plugin!), Showcase,
SimpleChestLock, StarterKit, supplysign, Tips, WelcomeMe, Wordreplace,
WorldEdit, WorldGuard, worldsafe (<--- those three seem the most obvious but i've tested them already)

Hmm I don't know about any issues with any of them. Can you send me your config.yml using pastebin and, if you want to, send me your server IP in my inbox and i'll try and help :)
Would be easier to see it on server as a default users.

so any chance we can build on rented land now? i guess ill install the new version and ask my players to try it out but it'd be nice to know if it's just me having this issue or not.

I don't believe this is an 'issue'. Its just that when bekvon bought out rent i think it was more for the renting of land to use, not to build on.
However as i've said before, i'm still not 100% of the rent system. I only know what i use it for.

i have a large main residence (owned by me) and inside contains multiple subzones owned by other players.
whenever i break a block in someone elses subzone, it throws the traceback.
not a major issue (for me as im admin anyway) it does spam the server though.
it just means that anyone who sells a subzone can do whatever to it, even if their permissions say they can't.
this happens with all messages, BLOCK_BREAK and PLAYER_INTERACT were the two i saw the most (for obvious reasons)

    have fun :)

    EDIT:
    forgot plugin versions....
    Bukkit #818

    Residence: current
    iConomy: 5.0.1

I was wondering... If you use an old config file with the newest build, does it adds the new options to the config file, or deletes it and makes a new one, or just do nothing ? (I know, noob question)

The latest config is VERY different to the 1.X one. So you'll need to trasnfer over the properties yourself. It's a much clearer layout though so its worth doing :)

Oh right ok. Well I was going to write a sorta FAQ section for how to set up things. Like how to set up rentable buildings or how to set up the residence market place etc. So I'll work on that soon, but I'm not sure about how the flags work on rented properties yet.
I'll find out more about it :)

They don't. There is no flag I can set or pset ,even if the person renting is also the owner, that would allow renters to build. But ive already said that... It just seems wrong that the order of permission checking should be like this

I am trying to create a large residence, but I keep getting messages saying that my area size is not with my allowed limits. The limits are set to 999 north/south, 999 east/west, 127 up/down. I am well within those numbers (558, 500, 127), but I can't get it to take. Another user is having the same problem. It worked just fine before the updates. How might the admin and I fix this?

Tried changing the limits to 9999, but it made no difference.

works for me (although i dont see the point, like i said previously).

If your residence is Booboo and area Abra and you're renting it out for 3000 for 30 days renewable, you would do /res market rentable Booboo.Abra 3000 30 t

    also whats new in 2.1.4

    Hello Swadon. To activate rent:

    Just set 'EnableRentSystem' to true.
    EnableRentSystem: true
(it's near the bottom of the global settings)
    -DanJames

Don't see the point of rentable sub-zones?
    • I've got my world (which is a large flat area surrounded by high bedrock walls) as my 'RPG WORLD'. This is a main residence called 'world'.
    • I then have towns/villages inside that 'world' which are subzones.
    • Inside those towns, I have shops/houses/rentables/community buildings which are sub-zones to the subzone.
    So eg, world.minetown.rent1
This allows me to easily manage the world/towns and still be able to rent out those houses and sell them.
    Just thought I'd mention that.
