    MOVED TO DEV BUKKIT:
    News

    v2.4.2 Released - 9/24/2011
See the change log for details.
Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.
As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.
This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.

    Residence Signs (by KarnEdge)

NOTE: All Residence usage information has been moved to the wiki!

    About:
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)
    • Recursive Sub-zoning. Create zones within zones, and then zones within those zones...
    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.
    • (Optional) Permissions support.
    • In-game help / commands descriptions

    • Fixed global "container" flag bug.
    • Fixed some NPE's related to explosions.
    • Added /resload command to load the save file after you make changes to it (UNSAFE, as it does not save residences first, and so you may loose new residences that were just created)
    v2.2
    • Added per residence Blacklist/Ignorelists that will allow you to specify certain block types to be ignored from residence protections, or unable to be placed in residences.
    • Added Server owned land, use /resadmin server <residence> to change the owner to "Server Owned"

    • BOSEconomy support.
    • Essentials Economy support.

    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.

  3. Offline

    Daniel Few

There are only two, and they can be found on the wiki under 'Setup and Configuration'
    They are:
    • residence.admin - gives the ability to ignore all restrictions
    • residence.create - allows the creation of residence
Any other restrictions can be set-up in the configuration. Again, please see the wiki.

    Major help needed!
    Hello,

I was using this "residence" plugin for my server, for a good couple or hours. Set a main res, and some "subzones" like stormwind.remote302 (stormwind being the main res) and made "remote302" be able to build on there. Now, anyone who logs in can do ANYTHING on the server, they can build on any res, but not break anything they build. It says on their screen "You do not have permission to build here.", but it still places their block, and they cannot even break it! The place block part is stuffed up, can you please help me with this! Thanks!

on a serious note, any idea on how long porting to 1.6.6 will take? (if you've even had a chance to look at it yet)

No, many, many changes have been made to 2.X and it's a much cleaner and well organised config file.

  11. ok thx, u think it's possible to "convert" the config file ?
    i've a big server running with 1.X

    Daniel Few

I think the best thing you can do is look in your config, look in the new one and set the same options. Works basically the same but it has new option to make iot easier. So u cant just use ur 1.X one. Also, Im not sure if the res.yml can be transfered, you'll have to ask Bekvon. Make sure you make backups of EVERYTHING before you try transferring. Don't want you loosing all your residence's because I gave you the wrong infromation :p

It probably has something to do with you being on CB818 when residence is still on 803. I'd think when residence updates it would be fixed :/ but i'm no expert ;)

    Hello Everyone,

I have a question : It is possible cuboid a city without residences of the players, like this image :
Because I tested cuboid the city with WorldGuard for example (or other cuboid plugins), and it does not work, it also cuboid residences players and they can not build.

Is it possible to do this or not ?

    Thank you for help me.

(Sorry for my English, I'm French).

I'm sorry I don't quite understand what you mean :/ You can residence an area that is not buildable in and then have sub-residences that are. If thats what your asking?

  19. Offline

    Swadon

Oh ok, with /res area, I can do this ? I can create residences within this area ?

  20. Offline

    Felonu

I think they want to use cuboid protection on the area and have residence overwrite that protection when used.

I think you have to set up the whole area as a residence then set subzones for people to build in specific areas.

    Swadon

    Yes, that's what I meant ^^"

    Thank you both :)

  22. Offline

    Daniel Few

Yes. Create you main area as a residenc, then, as felonu said, create subzones around the spots. You can then either sell them, rent them, allow building etc.

    Thanks :)

Is there a command to remove a subzone? or will I need to remove it from the config?

    Nvm got It :D

New question, is it possible to set Area flags? Is there a point to making areas within a residence?

  27. Offline

    Daniel Few

If you are talking about subzones, yes you can set seperate flags for them. Just stand inside the subzone and use the /res set, pset, gset commands as you would on a main Residence.

Sorry, but I cant get that to work. Have tried adding §a direclt before %owner, or with an space in between. But it always stays as yellow. I run the latest stable build 2.1.4 on RB818.
Edit: And yes, I added it all ranks.

Not subzones, but the current area id. Like when you create a land, it has current area id: main and you can make a new one within a residence with /res area residence name after selecting an area within a residence. Is there a point to the current area id?

I dont understand what you mean by 'a point to the current area id'. :/ i feel silly lol.
If you mean, whats the point of multiple areas, its so you can make advanced selections like this:

Ahh, I understand what that does now, but that is not what I am looking for.

    http://i.imgur.com/wRZqm.png

Here's an example of our map.

I have bought the red square.

The black square is a city.

What I am trying to do is set different flags for both of these square, while being the same land.

So I would like everything inside the red square to have monsters set to true, while inside the black square monsters are set to false.

If I make a subzone for the black square, no one else can make subzones.
