    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Features (open)

    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.
      • Towns can join together into nations, further structuring a server into teams.

    Wow thanks, everybodys telling me different things, but on the recommended build list i cant seem to find a 1321 build, only others, can you please send a link for that build since i cant seem to find it ^^, thanks :)

    Chances are your english.yml/language file is in UTF-8, sadly with the new config stuff, it needs to be in ANSI encoding.
    This was fixed in the dev version to happen automatically. It'll also be in the new release that is about to drop.

    Not at the moment, just drop register.jar into the plugins folder. Keep in mind: if you're using ico 5.01 you don't need it.

    some might, going from 1240 to 1321 I needed to update towny, pex, and spout.

    no worries! thanks for pointing that out, didn't even think to check that. I'll download and resave it as ANSI see if that fixes it.

    If you aren't going to move to the new dev right now you'll need to do a couple things or that version of towny will overwrite it back into utf-8.
    1) Change config.yml's language to english-temp.yml
    2) Change your language file to english-temp.yml and save as ANSI encoding.

    also did the 'displayname' (or whatever bukkit varaible that is) change in the new builds? mchat no longer likes towny. it refuses to use any of townys name formating with the new build
    could do away with mchat all together if I could pick colors for message (even just one color for all messages) and option to remove the '< >' around the names (hint hint) :p

    Chat was changed in 0.76.3.* which broke compatibility with a lot of chat plugins. The new dev and the next release has it all worked out, there's even a new townychat.jar that you can use.

    very few plugins I use that the devs keep on top of things so well, and get back so quickly to problems.

    My server needs this more than ever, and my server is with a hosting service which only updates to RB's

    Can I please have a link to download towny that will work with 1317?? Even If It's an older version.. I need to setup towny on my server It's the last thing I need to complete It before It goes public.

    Sadly RB 1317 doesn't have a towny build that works with it. We're putting out 0.77.0.0 today which works with RB 1337. Hold tight!

    After a reload I get this error. :(
    Towny ver: 0.77.0.0
    CB ver: 1337
    Is it because Towny need to update for CB1337 compatibility?

    Jump on the IRC, I need version numbers of Towny, Bukkit, I need to see your server startup.

    That's saying part of the towny config, in the war section, there's a blank entry. You can try comparing your config to the one on the wiki, look for stuff in the war sections that don't match up.

    War shouldn't be used quite yet so it should be pretty much defaults.

  21. You have something odd/funky in one of your data folders. Possibly in yoru logs folder.
    Do NOT store anything in the towny folders that shouldn't be there.

    There's nothing in my towny folder besides everything that the .jar generated itself. Is it because of TownyChat? Maybe it conflicts with ChatManager (that comes with PEX)?
    Edit: Well, derp, TownyChat seems to load fine itself. But, could it be a conflict with another plugin?

    So we had a giant city and missed a setting in the config that destroys town blocks when a city is deleted. Now we lost our entire server's city (portions) and it was locked my server up. Not really a bug but a general complaint of a dumb default option.

    Stop the server, create a folder called 'logs' in the Towny folder. It'll startup after that. Sorry!

    Your config says your towns aren't removing sheep/chickens, I think this is just bad luck.
