    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.

    Pal, if I turn towny on and off twice, and it crashes like crazy with and not at all without, chances are large it is Towny. I mean, we had a petition against it on the server when I told people when it was on and when it was off :p

    Towny 0.7.5's cheat protection is busted. With cheat_protection: 'false' it is still not allowing folks to fly. Reverting back to 0.7.4 works fine. It's a Towny iissue not a config issue.
  5. I run my server 24/7 and reboot once a week (if that). I have 20 players on nightly and always someone on with no issues at all. Never a single crash, and server load never goes over 55%. I run 7 worlds with no borders. I also only use a 4GB dual core PC. This is how I know it can't be Towny as the cause.

    You run a heck of a lot of plugins.

    My server runs with cheat protection on. I grant the node 'towny.cheat.bypass' and players are allowed to fly.

    That doesn't help the fact that the option within the config is not working. (I prefer to use NoCheat.) With the setting to false, Towny is still doing cheat protection, which it should not be.

    i want that people can do thins in the wild like build and destroy
    i treid a couple thins but it wond work so can any1 all the things how it must be done and stuff
    just a how to

    It is Towny, wether it is conflicting or simply got some weird sort of issue with the set up, I can't stress out enough that I am positively sure the server is in major problems whenever it's enabled and completely fine whenever it's disabled. Want me to record it mate?

    And yeah, we are quite modified :p

    Mobs spawn in towns that have them disabled, and it doesn't notify you when you cross plots. I did exactly as your wiki said to do when upgrading from 0.74 to 0.75. Deleted the config file, reloaded, reconfiged, then reloaded again.
    I also noticed that health regen is also not working.

  11. I just pushed 0.75.1 to fix the config reading issues.
    It wasn't reading boolean (true/false) or double values correctly.

    I tried to use the moddisplayname but I am having issues getting the Jobs name text to play nice with Towny. Is there something that I could add to the chat modification to allow it to work with the jobs display information?

    Excellent with an update - I always like plugins that are updated on regular basis.

    But please please please - Next time when updating the language.yml - Don't overwrite - Rename the old so that 2 hours of translating is not lost...

    I have changed my config.yml with

    # The language file you wish to use
    language: danish.yml

    And had translated all strings to danish, but after the latest update done today, all of my translations was lost.

    My danish.yml had the following header:
    name: Towny
    version: 0.05
    language: danish
    author: Ruprect

    But now it has:
    name: Towny
    version: 0.06
    language: english
    author: ElgarL

    And my english.yml has:
    name: Towny
    version: 0.05
    language: english
    author: ElgarL
    (Nothing changed in that one)

    Thank you for a great plugin, but this was a little bit irritating (starting to translate again)...

    Oh .. and the config.yml was also updated, lost my changes there also - It contains the namePostfix and Prefix'es (Perhaps those should be moved to the language file instead since they are also language specific.).

    Mobs don't disappear when they enter a town. They don't spawn in them, but they can walk right into one.

    Looks like there is a bug in 0.75.1 that there was a version or two ago when Towny would not be able to load because it would hang when loading certain resident files. It was working fine for us, until a server restart.

    Can someone post a pastebin of the config file? I wanna know if I can turn off half of this crap before I put this on my server.

    And, really, in a month or two, am I gonna have to update again to yet a new version of towny?

  21. I will check this. It should NOT overwrite a differently named language file. It should read that you are using a different named and not replace it, but that new bit of code I didn't write. I'll check it now.

    EDIT: This is a bug.

    Jump in IRC and they can help you clear that.

    Be sure you are on 75.1, but I will check this. Be sure to check your mob removal timer is at 1 to 5 seconds. It may have read your old milliseconds. It's now in seconds. ALL timers are now in the new format of days,minutes,seconds.
    The old bug was a typo in the mob removal code, but that hasn't changed for this version. It's possible a different bug crept in with the major overhaul on the config code.

    Towny generally runs before most other plugins. It may be a case of it's running before your Jobs plugin.

    What plugin are you using for jobs?

    There's no 'crap' in Towny, but there is a default config file available on the Towny website.
    Towny is under rapid development so if you want to stay upto date with bug fixes and additions you need to update. If however you require no bug fixes or new features then there's nothing forcing you to upgrade, unless it breaks with a bukkit update.

    any help on this? really would like a protect x,y,z coord town creation. like. cant build town within X amount of plots from spawn.

    When residents of my town go to claim a plot that was previously owned they receive the error: '[Towny] You don't have enough money to purchase this plot' even when the plot price is set to 0.

    I've tried reinstalling towny but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

  28. I really wish plugins would attempt to maintain backwards compatability.

    Currently iConomy 6 is beta. I'm not adding iCo6 support until it's released so I know I'm not repeating work.

    You can increase min_distance_from_town_homeblock. This will force towns to maintian a certain distance between homeblocks.

    iCo5 works perfectly fine for just about everyone. Is there something in iCo6 that you specifically need?

    Aside from the fact that the banking system in iConomy 5 is broken and is removed in 6 all together and likely has many bug fixes between the versions I suppose not. Though I intend not to switch from 6 back to 5 so I suppose I will look for a different plugin.
