So I downloaded this RPGChat plugin and it works, and everythings good but when you Type something In-Character it says [PlayersIn-Game-Name] Which I don't want, I want it to say there Nickname. The Format is below, how do I fix that? OOC: Message Layout: '[OOC] %prefix &7[%Player]&f '
@Ranger2415 But what would be different about it from Essentials? Also, make sure you tag or quote me if you want to be sure I see your post!
@nverdier because with this its simple and has everything that I need for it. I've never used Essentials Chat and I would rather not learn how to use it. I'm currently using RoleplayChat but its bulky so i'm looking for something better.
@nverdier and it will help that plugin? Alrighty.. @nverdier where do I put that? I can't find a place for it in the Essentials Config?
@nverdier Where in it? I posted below. ############################################################ # +------------------------------------------------------+ # # | EssentialsChat | # # +------------------------------------------------------+ # ############################################################ chat: # If EssentialsChat is installed, this will define how far a player's voice travels, in blocks. Set to 0 to make all chat global. # Note that users with the "essentials.chat.spy" permission will hear everything, regardless of this setting. # Users with essentials.chat.shout can override this by prefixing text with an exclamation mark (!) # Users with essentials.chat.question can override this by prefixing text with a question mark (?) # You can add command costs for shout/question by adding chat-shout and chat-question to the command costs section." radius: 0 # Chat formatting can be done in two ways, you can either define a standard format for all chat. # Or you can give a group specific chat format, to give some extra variation. # If set to the default chat format which "should" be compatible with ichat. # For more information of chat formatting, check out the wiki: http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Chat_Formatting format: '<{DISPLAYNAME}> {MESSAGE}' #format: '&7[{GROUP}]&r {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&r {MESSAGE}' group-formats: # Default: '{WORLDNAME} {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&r {MESSAGE}' # Admins: '{WORLDNAME} &c[{GROUP}]&r {DISPLAYNAME}&7:&c {MESSAGE}' # If you are using group formats make sure to remove the '#' to allow the setting to be read.
@Ranger2415 It automatically uses the display name (nickname) if you set that to true towards the top of the config.
@nverdier Alright i'll try that. @nverdier Okay its still puting [OOC] [Ranger2415], I want it to show there nick names. EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
@nverdier I apologize, I was mistaking this problem with another problem I had regarding Factions changing my format, but after looking at the file more closely, I've figured out the source of the problem. Do note, though, that @Ranger2415 has just opened another thread today regarding HeroChat, so I don't believe this thread needs to remain open any longer / his other thread needs to be merged here.
