    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

      • Based on the permission-node system, ability to set the level required to learn certain permission-nodes to have a highly configurable system.
      • Does not use the /skill prefix - Permission skills copy the original command exactly.
      • Also works with non-command required Permission nodes (ie. Firelord for special armor abilities for certain classes)
      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak
    • Binding Skills
      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills
    • Inventory Restriction
      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class
      • Configurable in classes.yml [DIAMOND]
    • Levels
      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level

      • SKILL - exp for using a skill
      • CRAFTING - exp for crafting an item
      • MINING - exp for mining blocks
      • KILLING - exp for slaying mobs
      • LOGGING - exp for jacking lumber
      • PVP - exp for PVP

      • Set monster health/damage
      • Allow bed healing for players to regenerate health in bed!

    could you make signs able to switch classes? im using mobarena and i would like to have classes inside arena without any typing. like if i were to click on a sign my class becomes mage and i receive a stick, and the skills is automaticlly bound to the stick. would be awesome :)

    "Curse:" and "Wisdom:" are indented one line too far. Also, instead of typing all the weapons (or armor) each time, you can use the line
    - '*'
    it basically just means 'all'

    Hey guys, first post. Wanted to say, fantastic mod/plugin. Played on a server with a completely corrupt staff who banned us all when we told him the classes weren't balanced properly, so, we decided to make our own! I have a quick question, and didn't want to sift through 65 pages.

    We want to have people be able to pick their class once at the beginning, and then that's it. Is there anyway to limit where/when people type the class commands, another mod used a sign option to pick classes and this suited how we wanted to do it better, but that is the only part of theirs that I am interested in.

    Edit, Oh sorry, another question. On the server I saw it used you had to attach each skill to an item that when you died would go with you, so it made it a constant hassle to re equip these skills. Would it be possible to make newbified skill discs or something, so people would not have to do this, discs were given to each person upon choosing their class? And would it be possible in Minecraft to not have items immediately fill up your hotbar and instead your inventory, to make things much easier for classes that use their hands and whatnot.

    I'm mid scripting on this guys, I would appreciate some responses. How people pick their classes is kind of big deal for my development.

    Help, people aren't able to enchant stuff. Whenever they pick up an item and put it in the box for enchanting it dissapears and then reappears in their inventory. I'm not sure whats going on because there are no errors. Thanks in advance.

    I'm completely new to Heroes I need to learn how to use it.
    I do not know how to grant a player a class and what not,I look around and can not find the assistance I need.
    Can someone please post a link for the admins commands or a tutorial and prove to me I suck i looking for information.
    EDIT: This is so exciting for me,found out some basic stuff.
    How do I attack anything with the skills?? Getting a message: "Sorry,you can't damage that target!"
    How do I change that?
    I also want to remove all skills from citizen class,but I do not know how.
    I already turned "All: true" into false in the jar and yml but that does not seem to work.
    Which leads to how to edit a class.
    I know I am a real noob at this but I will learn soon,I promise! lol
    I would still like a more in depth link tutorial if you can!

    Than how can i enchant my tools?

    Almost positive the mobs won't drop exp balls... they fill in your xp bar where the balls would drop and along with that you should be able to just go to an enchanting table and enchant your tools.

    Hey can someone help me out currently were having problems and in my time of playing herocraft i noticed this had happened once so i decided to ask you..
    Ok when ever we respawn and everything we have 0/how ever much health we have... the regeneration is messed up or i possibly messed something up in the plugins folder. [​IMG]

    i fixed that problame by having a separate Permission plugin... try bukkitpermissions or permissionbukkit lol i forget the name but basicly you have to make it like this if you want single classesheroes.classes.[CLASS]: true this will work with an permission plugin that i know of atm :D

    Great plugin. More stable and much less resource usage on my server than MCMMO. I hope work continues on this project to add more diversity between players of the same class. I would like to see a point based system where a player can spend points acquired from leveling to purchase skills within their class. However I'm sure this would make the plugin more complex to use and my players definitely need it kept simple. This is the best class system plugin if you want a reliable and stable server.

    Hey i hate asking this but may i please get some corrections... i have no clue what i did wrong but users cant pick thier class- Heres my permission file with permissions bukkit. Also when ever a maxed level trys to kill a lvl 1 none spec it says "That player is out of your Level range"

    quick about that last part, what's you classes max level? the hero config file contains a pvp limiter, the default is on and within 50 levels of each other, you can adjust it as needed

    I'd love to use this plugin in my Mob Arena plugin but i dont want Heroes to affect anything outside of the Mob Arena, How would my config files look if i were to set up heroes so that you can use the spells and skills inside Mob Arena but you cant use anything from heroes outside of it? Anyone know? Help is much appreciated!
