I know the base game has some code for the time it takes to mine blocks and restrictions on mining with only certain tools. I wondered if there was a MOD that could expose those controls on the SMP server. Imagine a hardcore server rule set with: -tough tool restrictions: You need wooden shovel to mine/dig sand,dirt,grass blocks. -adjustable mining times. Mining: Sandstone blocks take 10 Cobblestone blocks take 20 seconds Stone blocks take 30 seconds Iron blocks take 45 seconds ... Diamond Ore blocks take 5 minutes I am looking at setting up a custom server that adds some gritty elements to make life harsher and more rewarding and would love to slow down the crazy DigDug mining we current have, where with a handful of picks and a few minutes a player can dig a cavern bigger than a Airplane hanger
