Firstly, my apologies if this, or something similar, has been asked before. I did do a search but couldn’t find anything close to what I’m after. Basically I’d like a mod that move the entire map down a set number of blocks, 32 in my case, so sea level is much lower than normal. It would also have to replace the lowest row with Bedrock so as to fix any holes that appear due to dungeon caves going deep. I realise this would effectively remove the ores from the lower levels, making diamond's, Redstone and Lapis harder to find. But it would allow players to build huge skyscrapers, or castles on top of cliffs without worrying about being too close to the sky limit. I know there is a plug-in out there called SphereWorld that changes the way a map is generated ( or at least I believe it does, may modify it after ) so perhaps it's possible. Thanks in advance if anyone can do this, or even post any info to a plug-in that does this or something similar.
OK, guess this isnt possable (or noone knows how) So... Does anyone know if theres a way to heighten the map? I believe ive seen a client side mod that allows a taller map and come to think, seeing how Minecraft works, its possable not doable wiht a plugin, but no harm in asking?
I know custom classic servers could completely change the map (how it generates, size, etc.), but I'm not sure why it hasn't been done for Alpha+ versions. I'm guessing it might not be possible, but a map with more layers would be cool. (It feels short after you play on a Classic server, but a Classic map feels small after playing on a Beta server. )
Are you asking for a custom generator that generates maps with a lower sea level, or a plugin that will let you edit your existing map to lower the sea level? Those are two totally different things; the latter would probably be better served by something like MCEdit, though.
Neither and both i think, which i know isnt helpfully so let me explain. I want more space above my head to put it simply, the eaiest way of doing that was to lower the map. Ive done it in MCEdit, but when new chunks are loaded their at the default height and i'd ahve to stop the server and reedit the map everytime. What i was after isnt a generator as such, but a plugin that would detect when a chunk is first created and simply select the whole chunk and lower it by say 32 blocks. so Sea Level would then be at y:35 inetead of 65. That way the map could be seeded normally and just modified as it was created. Ive been following a plugin called BananaImagetoMap that creates terrain from a image and thta kinda fills in what im after, butI dont know if it can be done without using a custom generator at all.
This plugin was created a while ago to do exactly this, but it seems the original author has abandoned it.
Wow, your right. I did do a search through the plugins list but couldnt find anything, and im sure i used the world skies too. Thanks for finding that, If it is possable to update this it would be great, I know nothing about java so no idea how it works let alone how to change it.
