Plugins/give commands/ scrap bukkit/ admins

Im just getting into plugins with bukkit. but how do i give myself an item?? do i need scrap bukkit ?? what is scrap bukkit?? i tried /give (name) (id) but nothing worked. do i use a hex value or decimal?? i search for a plugin, but the i heared the /give command was already built in. Also how do i make myself an admin?? i understand there no longer a users.txt, do i use the ops.txt? please help or direct me to help.

 

ops.tx tis a list of OPS (i.e. operators, you can see them as admins). If you are an OP you can use /give player id qty

 

so i would ut my name in as (name):admins??? or how would i make myself an op on my server

 

echo "myname" >> ops.txt
Or manually just edit ops.txt and put the name here, one name on one line.

Exactly, as long as those are their MC usernames.
