I have used three plugins for commands on my server, (Essentials, Commandbook, and now RoyalCommands), but those are either too large, or not updated. Is there any ones close to these that are up to date and fully functioning? Something close to Commandbook would be nice.
i have no idea what your talking about when it comes to updating there all made for 1.3.2 you can cut up plugins like find one for warps another for tp commands another for home and so on or grab a full plug in like yours listed http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/ start looking
I started to doing that. Would adding more plugins slow down the server, or does it depend on the number of lines in the code? (I'm assuming the former)
more plug ins means more memory usage always thats why they make these nice combined plug ins i use essentials they just updated
Seeing how memory usage isn't really an issue, I'll just use many different plugins. Essentials just has way too many features with too little configuration.
i like essentials for the small world guard part and you need the moderation part like mute jail kick and ban and i use the /sethome unlimited for donators they can add as many as they want and the homes are private unlike warp plug ins and of course you have to have the cheats it comes with like /give lool trust me when you load and play with one of these over all plug in you will wonder how you ever got long with out them
chakyl CommandsEx is an option, there's also Core. If you want full customization, I recommend you just use a bunch of different plugins, especially if memory isn't an issue.
It's mostly small tweaks like configuration for messages, and more features for specific parts. For instance, Essentials has kits, but InfiniteKits has a command to set inventory as kit in-game, and add/remove items to a kit on command.
Every single ingame message in Essentials is configurable. You can alter a few messages or provide a completely seperate message set http://wiki.ess3.net/w/images/0/0c/Locale.PNG http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Locale Feel free to mix other plugins with Essentials. Essentials should disable its commands if it detects a command conflict. You should have no issues using another kit plugin with Essentials.
