Development Assistance Plugin Development

Hello everyone,

Okay so recently I have gotten into learning Javascript to learn how to create plugins. I have been searching around the internet and I keep seeing websites saying things about only learning Java for plugins which has gotten me into a stir, I have contacted someone through skype to ask what language they use to code and they said Javascript. I would like to ask what language is required? Is it Just Java or Javascript or both? If only Java can you direct me to a site that can teach me everything I will need to know.

Javascript is a web development language, it is what parts of this site is made of, along with HTML, CSS etc. Java is what Bukkit and Minecraft and all the Minecraft mods and plugins are made in.
