Playing on my server on another router

  1. So, I run a bukkit server on my laptop at home, and I play it with a few friends, but now I'm at my friends house and we'd like to play on that server, but I don't want to mess with their router. So I'm hoping there is a solution we can still play together on the server. We're connected to the same router, and the server does not have to be open to other people, just us. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  2. I recomment using Hamachi or comodo if you don't want to mess with their router.

If everyone who will be connecting to the server is on the same network just have them use the internal IP of your laptop.

Just use lan. Aka localhost. It will connect them to it and you guys can play together :p. Back in school i used to do that and i would crash the whole network :p

  5. Yes but they want to play on their server and thats not possible with lan right?

  6. Yeah, I know how to set up a LAN server, but I have a bukkit server I'd like to play here.

Well if they are on the same router yes it is.

You could do hamachi but that is not recommended.

  8. I solved it. I let him put my IPv4 adress (via ipconfig in cmd) in as a new server. Thanks!

That means internal. And also PaulThur make sure you put your thread solved via the thread tools!

I know it's internal - I was mainly wondering why he was wanting to go through a router.

So they could possibly send it to friends that are not on the same router...

  13. I'm sorry, I'm new to the forums.
