The Bukkit forums and community do not support offline servers. Please do not mention anything related to offline or "cracked" servers.

Anyways, on with the thread. Is this a self-hosted server?

Yes, it is a self hosted.

    Have you port forwarded?

Things to check, in this order:

    0. CraftBukkit is running
    1. CraftBukkit bound to correct port (no message saying, "FAILED TO BIND TO PORT", and Bukkit reports listening on '*:25565')
    2. You can connect locally from the machine running CraftBukkit
    3. You have allowed CraftBukkit through your Mac's local firewall
4 You can connect from another computer in your house
5 You have forwarded a port through your router's firewall/NAT
    6. http://canyouseeme.org reports that your port is open
    7. People can connect from elsewhere in the world

Let us know which step fails.

    EDIT: fixed link canyouseemee.org -> canyouseeme.org

@falkensmaze Thanks for the help. Where on Canyouseeme.org can I see if my port is open? It just shows me lots of links for random crap websites.

@3DDarren I don't know what IP my friend is using.

I think I had an extra 'e' on the end for a minute before the edit. http://canyouseeme.org/

EDIT: Oops, I just accidentally phished you by fixing only the link text! I'm sorry. It's been fixed.

Make sure it works first with the dotted-decimal IP address (123.45.67.89) reported by canyouseeme before trying to use your domain name, if you have one.

    yttriuszzerbus No I haven't,
falkensmaze but canyouseeme is giving me a different IP then my computer is saying I have (CanYouSeeMe's: 142.165.251.63
    what my computer says: 172.16.1.76)

Okay, that's normal. The first one is the real IP address of your internet connection. The 172.16 address is called a private IP address, and it won't work for anything outside of your house. What you need to do is configure port forwarding on your router. Check the manual for your router or search for instructions online using the brand and model number.

In general all routers support it. You usually log in via a web browser to configure it. Have you got a brand and model number? The manuals can often be downloaded online.

falkensmaze I found my router but...I can't find anything about ports, and port forwarding.

http://portforward.com has guides for a great many routers. most routers do support it (except some modified ones, like my friend has a router where network usage is monitored, and therefore, cannot be changed).
