I've been (repeatedly) trying to generate a map for a new server. Using forcegenchunks to get a 500 chunk radius around spawn before settling on a world, I'm now about to pull my hair out. Every single map I generate has 40-70% ocean surface. A single or even occational ocean biome is fine - some folks enjoy their underwater builds, but with over half the map unusable for anything other than underwater builds, I keep trying over to ensure folks actually have somewhere to build rather than just water to look at. I'm currently now generating world #27. Could anyone please advise? Have I just had an obscenely bad run of luck on seeds? If not, is there a workaround for this?
I hope you're using a multiworld manager to rapidly make them without restart (xcraftgate/multiverse) If you keep using the same name, it may keep using the same seed.
I've confirmed the seed is changing with each new generation, but I still wind up stuck with massive oceans removing functionality from two thirds of the map. The delays in remaking them isn't so much the restart as regenning chunks for a world that size to confirm whether or not I'm (yet again) stuck with Gilligan's Server.
