I am simply wondering if it is possible using a bukkit plugin to change what a mob spawner spawns, using the new flags that were added in 1.3. Then you could create charged creeper spawners that would make a dungeon much more challenging and exciting. I realize that bukkit may not be able to edit those flags, and that this request may not be possible, but assuming that it is, my formatted request can be found below: Title: Super Spawners Commands: /spawner <mob type> Permissions: superspawner.change How it works: Type the command while looking a the spawner that you would like to change, and this plugin will change it to whatever type of mob you want!
Command book does this, however it would be nice to have some one develop this plug just as a stand alone itself.
I can't find any plugins that change what a mob spawner spawns. There are many which can spawn the mobs with a command, but I need them to make a mob spawner that does it. I also don't see anyway that Essentials or Commandbook could accomplish this. So my request still stands.
Actually, Essentials has '/spawner <mob>', but I don't know if it includes things like powered creepers yet.
I thought that, too, until I read: He can't find a plugin which changes what a mob spawner spawns; that's all he said there. I just said that Essentials can change what it spawns. :3 But in terms of the new 1.3 options, I have no idea.
This should be possible, even if this functionality is not exposed via the Bukkit API, a plugin could bypass the API and edit the spawner tags directly. Would be a nice plugin to have. If anyone wants to implement this, I offer SilkSpawners as a base (it doesn't have this feature, but perhaps someone could add it). Alternatively, a plugin could override the spawner spawning and arbitrarily control how it works, like MonsterBox. The author of MonsterBox says he plans to add this feature you want, after API is available:
I have a plugin that you type /spawner (mob name) and it makes that spawner OR you can have your cross hairs on a spawner and type /spawner (mobname) is called silkspawners so get it! oh did i mention you can get a enderdragon spawner and giant spawner
Here you are (This works in 1.3.1!) Code: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/edit-monsterbox-v0-6-change-any-placed-monster-spawners-type-1-1-r1.20098/
