What is uCreate?​

uCreate is a plugin that allows you to transform any world (or your entire server) into a game similar to Minecraft Classic. Each aspect of uCreate is configurable, letting you have every feature you want, and none that you don't.

Features: (all totally optional)

• Automatically activates Notch's creative mode
• Drop disabling (fixes notch's silly bugs)

uCreate won't lag your server.

"But uCreate has so many features, it will lag!"
Nope. If you don't want a certain feature, uCreate won't even register the listener. Meaning, any feature you don't want, you literally won't have.

Configuration:
uCreate 2.0 had it's config totally redesigned. It's a lot to take in, so to help you figure it out, I made this neat little chart:
(as of 2.1, the config was trimmed a lot, due to Minecraft 1.8)

Commands:
Syntax: /command OR /command [required] (optional)

Permissions:
Using permissions in uCreate is totally optional. In the config (under 'settings') is an option called 'permissions' If set to false, no permissions will be used, so everybody can use all the features. If it's set to true, only people with specified permissions will be able to do certain things.
Supported permissions: SuperPerms/PermissionsBukkit, Permissions 3.x, Permissions 2.x, *PermissionsEX (*needs confirmation)

Permission	Description
ucreate.*	Gives acess to all of the uCreate permissions. (default Op)(works with SuperPerms)
ucreate.notch	Gives players access to the features of Notch's creative mode.
ucreate.itemspawn	Allows players to use the /i and /item commands.
ucreate.homes	Allows players to use /home and /sethome.
ucreate.teleport	Allows players to use the teleport commands.
ucreate.admin	Allows players to bypass teleport requests.
ucreate.wool	Allows players to use the /wool command/
ucreate.clearinv	Allows players to use the /clearinv command.

How to make your worlds generate a uCreate flatmap:
Just follow these instructions to make specific worlds generate a uCreate flatmap. This will not overwrite existing worlds, however newly generated chunks will be flat.

1. Edit "flatMapHeight" in the config.
2. Decide which worlds you want to be flat ('flatworld' for this example)
3. Open your bukkit.yml file (in your server directory) with a text/yaml editor.
4. Add this to your bukkit.yml (where 'flatworld' is the name of your world):

What happened to the old uCreate?
With the release of Notch's creative mode, some features of uCreate have become obsolete. Some features like the insta-break blacklist are no longer available due to the way Notch's creative is coded. Go yell at Notch

• Scrapped obsolete features
• Deleting your config and re-doing it is HIGHLY recommended, but not required.
• Don't expect any more updates after this.

What about a separate inventory For those of us that want to run A Creative map along side a SMP map?

 

are you sure you uploaded the correct file? because mine still says that version 2.0 is loaded, and is spewing out quite some errors.

 

Yeah it says 2.0 but it's 2.0.1. I forgot to update the plugin.yml

odd, since github's plugin.yml says 2.0.1 and the files seem to be slightly different in size.

edit: replaced the files from the .jar with the ones from github, no more errors when starting up

just check the difference between the github and the .jar link you provided, they're different

 

uCreate 2.0 is on it's way with a ucreate.admin permission node, as well as an improvement to the Spout item inventory, plus a few bug fixes.

 

I am glad to see that you are keeping this alive and that you still have the heart to release your source code. I haven't tried this out yet, but it looks like you messed up a couple tags in your original post. You might want to fix those

 

Pretty cool plugin reduced the amount i need by loads!! Only one problem the fire still spreads i don't if it was because it came from lava - luckily it didn't actually do anything. My ideas would be - make a customisable item list because it took a while to get some of the names right - a bit like odd give. =]

 

Using the Spout Item Inventory
The item inventory, commonly referred to as "ItemInv" is a menu attached to your inventoy that allows you to drag any item right into your inventory. ItemInv requires Spout. (see above)
To choose which page of items to view, press a number key on your keyboard (not the numpad)
For server admins: To configure the ItemInv to your needs, edit the SpoutInventory.yml file. Here's an example that contains 5 menus:

Just put the section name, then a list of item ids to be included in the inventory. To add data values for wools in such, put a colon then the data, i. e. 35:5

I've updated uCreate and Sprout today. My useSprout = true, and my itemInventory = true, but my inventory has remained unchanged. Both uCreate and Sprout were recognized by my server as being initialized, however, uCreate DOES initialize before Sprout, if that matters. I AM running permissions, but my permissions = true in the uCreate settings section.

Am I missing something?

Each user needs to use the Spoutcraft launcher, otherwise they can't use the Spout functions. It would be best to encourage your users to use Spoutcraft.

 

Thanks a lot for the help! I think I'm going to keep us on the standard launcher however, seeing as the upcoming Minecraft 1.8 update will throw all mods on their heads, and my players are happy with spawning anyway.

I still really want to use you plugin though, it's one of my favorite creative plugins because it has an instant-break blacklist. However, there's just one setting that is irking me. I've now switched to spawning, which is working fine, however the defaultStackSize won't change off of 64, and I just think it would look a lot nicer if when a block was spawned it spawned only one block and regenerated only one block (regenerating one block IS working). Any suggestions?

 

Why not use it until 1.8? It's still pretty far off. Enjoy it while you can.
Chances are Spoutcraft will be able to adapt fairly quickly too.
And I'll check the code for stackSize issues.

Hey, whaddya know! Turns out I was writing the defaultStackSize to the config, but I never actually read it back to the code! So because of that it was stuck on the default 64
I'll fix that in the next release, hehe.

There just aren't enough reasons for me personally to use Sproutcraft (after consulting the list of plugins that use it).

And that list isn't complete. Infact, even uCreate isn't on that list. There are a ton of plugins out there that use spout and aren't on that list.

 

Hm, you're right I didn't see uCreate. Well, if it's ever needed I know where to get it now.

Btw, I'm finding plugins to fill in gaps that other creative plugins used to give me now that I'm switching to yours. I don't mean to complain, but maybe this could be helpful to you. The first two commands I missed were /wool, and /clear. I know that you're plugin relies more on the sprout inventory, but those are two really nice commands.

 

Very helpful suggestion, I'll get those in next release. And btw it's 'Spout' not 'Sprout' XD
Next release won't be soon though because I'm going on a short vacation. I'll try and get it up on sunday.
