    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Successfully ported Mystic Ore's, kind of, all the tools currently break the ores. Had no problem crafting the varies items and such.

    And I can't reconnect to the server if I don't delete the data file (skygge.dat) of my account.
    I have the 16bit....mod and it work fine with block. To add the item I use this code:

    Ok so i have downloaded the test server and set everything up.
    however, some items, such as stained glass and many of the slopes, do not show up in tmi and i seem unable to craft them online. however, i can see them in tmi in single player.
    any help would be appreciated.

    I installed it correctly and the server start up great,..I also did the Client Install AND ID....
    But when I try to login into my server,...My Minecraft Crashes,..What's Happening??

    When I connect to my server, everything is fine, but after 1-2 minutes, the server isn't responding and I have an Read Timed Out error (on client and server). No black screen. I need to reboot the server physically. But it's all the time the same error.

    Once i hopefully find out more ill make a little Tips and Hints Section.
    Dont expect an easy to use Tutorial on all the little Errors. You have to learn some Java. Thats what im doing right now too.

    Removing the period after mod_RecipeBook clears the error, no clue if it will cause other problems though.

    I'm having a problem with blocks so I created a new project and used your ghostblock code so I could see where I went wrong. mod_GhostCraft is error free, but BlockGhostWood gives me an error on the line "super(i, j, Material.WOOD/*wood*/);"
    Material is underlined and the error is "cannot find symbol" "symbol: variable Material" "location: class net.minecraft.server.BlockGhostWood"

    this is extreemly close to the error that is stumping me, I figure it the same fix needed.

    the newest bukkit.jar (not craftbukkit) and ItemCraft.jar are in my Libaries along with JDK 1.6

    hmmm im using craftbukkit (craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT build860). Maybe thats the Reason.
    My code looks exactly the same but i have no Error.

    yep I added craftbukkit and the error cleared.
    I read for developing bukkit plugins to use bukkit.jar and not craftbukkit.jar
    but this isn't a bukkit plugin, its an itemcraft plugin

    First: Wondering about the WorldGenerate method in Mystic Ores, does something have be added to ItemCraft.jar in order for the world to spawn the ores correctly? I've implemented a few different attempts at creating a new world with the new ore. None of which have been successful, but I am able to give myself the ore without the server crashing.

    Second: The Mystic Ores mod changes the ItemPickaxe.class to prevent the new ores from being mined with a wood pickaxe, so it sets requirements for the ore, again I am unable to implement that part successfully, wondering if you could give me some insight.

    Would be much appreciated, that and once I recieve the author's permission and further testing I'd release the mod for the community. Thanks

    Problem with StainedGlass.... If you add a stack of normal glass to any stack of colored.. the normal glass is changed to colored glass. Example. I have 1 yellow glass. I add 63 normal glass to the yellow. It turns into a 64 stack of yellow glass.

    This is one thing that ItemCraft differs from Modloader. There is a method in BaseMod that you need to override called isGenerator. Return true. See the ICNTrees example. While Modloader iterates through every mod you have per chunk, ItemCraft will only do it for plugins registered as generators.

    The pickaxe can be loaded using icscript in similar way to the potted plants.

    I dont think one of the more wanted Mods got ported yet.
    All the good Mods are more complicated to port like simple ones that add only Blocks or Items.
    Didnt expect myself that there are so many things to fix. :)
    I tried for a few hours now. But i only make small steps forward.

    just a quick question, while i am playing with this:

    the occurences where i find -- in my code

    is where the mapping failed, do i understand that correct?

    Untranslated part:

    Yup, already got a 2nd ported mod up. This one took about 2minutes.
    Server: ICMiner.jar
    Client: Miner's Helm

    Same as all the other mods, just need to add "ICMiner.jar" plugin to the plugin.ic file.
