ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    • Add more Block types
    • Add more Item types
    • Add more Entity types
    • Add more TileEntity types
    • Add more Crafting recipes
    • Add more Smelting recipes
    • Add more Tree generators
    • Ported ModLoader interface
    • Ported ModLoaderMP interface
    • Fake GUIAPI Settings interface
    • Startup file for configuring plugins and making simple blocks and items

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.
    • To start:
      • Windows:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar;craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main
      • Others:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar:craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

That said, I want to thank all who have helped users with their problems. In particular special thanks to icephantom and Asymetrikon for their big efforts in this. Also a special thanks to xeronut for being generally helpful.

I'm looking at modloader, and thinking it might be possible to make classes made for modloader to be plugged directly into itemcraft. But that could become a huge project if they freely make use of MCP functions.
  4. Offline

Ah ah ! I'm a big noob in Java programming and I'm not sure to understand what you want to do. Are you saying that you are trying to use the modloader thing with ItemCraft so that a mod written "with" modloader could be directly compatible with ItemCraft ?

For myself, I'm trying to use the startup.txt file to add new items but... I am completely lost !
I am trying to a the paper lantern from FancyPack and that's more difficult than I imagined it could be. :p I think I'll wait for examples and documentation. :)
  5. Offline

Yes, though only if there is a very limited use of the MCP because I'm not going to translate all of that. So for generating trees and custom dungeons or ruins or ore or whatever, that'd be doable.

As for the paper lantern try:
    Block 34
  6. Offline

How do you choose the number ? That's my problem. It needs to be the same as in the mod ?
  7. Offline

I picked the default one in the props file in the fancy pack. It doesn't have to be 34 though, but it has to be the same ID as in the props file. Btw, I forgot one thing, you need to set a material first:

    Material WOOD
    Block 34

I just chose WOOD because it burns. Tried this now and got the paper lantern :)
  8. Offline

Ok. Thank you. I'll try that when the server will be free. Or the other players will be kicked. :p
  9. Offline

You'll notice that you sort of get stuck like you did on the fence during alpha SMP when you move on the paper lantern. Try this:

    Block 34

The Blockbounds will make it walkable, as that what it is on the client side. The lightvalue might be different though, I just put something there.

    Very good sir!

Edit: The download appears to be version 0.3.5 according to my server log, link to the new version? Thanks!

It's actually 0.4.0 but it said 0.3.5 because I forgot to update the version number. Uploaded again with updated version number.
  12. Offline

wait, just to be sure, this plugin can add new block and items like normal client mods do?
like SDK's Gun Mod or Balkon's weaponmod?
  13. Offline

    Hi asdaarg !

Today, I have tried to add this on my startup file :
    Material WOOD
    Block 34

I have tried to add it at the beginning or at the end of the file and the result is the same. If I try go /give it to me, I got a "Unknow Item Id:34".
What am I doing wrong ?

If I have well understand everything, I can say yes. If the mods are ported to be compatible with ItemCraft, you will be able to use them. But consider my answer as something which can be false.

You have spaces in front of the instructions. At least that's what I got and didn't work when I copied it. But when I removed those spaces it worked.
    That's correct.
  15. Offline

I have check the file and I haven't found spaces. I have attached it to this message.

That file works for me. What version of ItemCraft are you using? Can you get the lanterns in single player? Try putting "loud" at the top of the file and see what the server says at startup.
  17. Offline

I am using ItemCraft 0.3.4. I'll upgrade to 0.4.0 and add the loud instructions. Then, I come back here to do a report. ;)
  18. Offline

Wait so this works with other players on my server? or do they have to modify something as well?
  19. Offline

They need to have the corresponding SSP mod installed on their Minecraft client. That's all for them.

    Here is the log :
    09:25:51 [INFO] ItemCraft 0.4.0

This time, the /i 34 1 has crashed my client ! :D I'll see if the mod is properly installed...

After a new try, I got this. I entered /i 34 1 to get the lamp and the server respond with "Giving one dummy to Tuttu". And my client crashes and I have this error :
Internal Exception: Received string length longer than maximum allowed (27>16)

There is progress, I'll manage to make it work on my server ! ^^
  22. Offline

Could you paste the whole error (including stacktrace)? Also try using /give, maybe /i doesn't like it, I have not tried.
  23. Offline

That's the only thing that I can report to you. On the server log, there is only a connection reset stuff. And my client tell the Java exception. With /give, I even get a larger number (956>16). :p

Edit : this time, even the server has crashed.

Edit 2 : I got a second log after disconnecting myself. Maybe it can help you :
15:31:14 [INFO] Disconnecting Tuttu [/]: Internal server error

You have an item by id -1 in your inventory. Its going to crash until you remove it somehow or trash your inventory. Can you get anything else from the client, like a "at net.minecraft.... .java:##) thing?

I have cleared my inventory, I have done the /give command and... I have crashed !
My client returns the same java error and if I tried to reconnect myself to the server, I an kicked and I get that beautiful error (The long one, speaking about item) on my server log. That's unfortunately all. I can't give you more.
I have upgraded ItemCraft to the last version and checked on solo that I can craft the paper lantern (Which is OK).

Ok, I have installed it and I have tried a /give. This time, I get a "Received string lenght is less than zero! Weird string!".
On the server side, I always get the same error the first time I tried to reconnect myself.

Did you type in net.minecraft.server.Item.byId[34] in the white box?

I haven't acces to the server itself. I just have access to a copy of the log.
It's time to eat for me. After that, I will make test on a local server so I will have this white box. "See you" later. ;)

Right, I figured out you can actually type directly in the chat:
    /eval net.minecraft.server.Item.byId[34]
You could of course also test it on a local server but then try /give first and see if it happens to work there.

    Here is your answer. :)

    >> net.minecraft.server.Item.byId[34]
    << com.asdaarg.bukkit.itemcraft.SimpleBlockItem@152d950
I got this on the two servers, the distant one and the local one. The only difference is the sequence after the @.
This one (152d950) is the one I got on my local test server. On the distant server, the sequence is 291972f8.
Hope that can help you. It seems that I get something created by your plugin, but what... :p
