ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    • Add more Block types
    • Add more Item types
    • Add more Entity types
    • Add more TileEntity types
    • Add more Crafting recipes
    • Add more Smelting recipes
    • Add more Tree generators
    • Ported ModLoader interface
    • Ported ModLoaderMP interface
    • Fake GUIAPI Settings interface
    • Startup file for configuring plugins and making simple blocks and items

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.
    • To start:
      • Windows:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar;craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main
      • Others:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar:craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

That said, I want to thank all who have helped users with their problems. In particular special thanks to icephantom and Asymetrikon for their big efforts in this. Also a special thanks to xeronut for being generally helpful.

Well I gave this a try..
Had the hosts staff closely monitoring the test, and all seemed fine when the server started
2 minutes in, it was drawing 4 times the usual resources, and climbing fast

Sorry Asdaarg, it's a great plugin, just not great enough at the moment :(

Hmmm my Server runs fine with the Plugin no Performanceissues at all.

    Superb plugin. Luv it.

.... but can't seem to work on SMP. I use all 3 plugins except KSlopes (minecraft was meant to be square!)
I followed the instructions. 3 times just to be sure. I can join my server - it's working - but outsiders can't.
I see him joining, see his character, but he disconnects after a sec getting:
    internal exeption: Read timed out

We had no issues on vanilla few days ago, played smoothly, so it's not the connection problem (or is it?)

    Here's my log :

I'd kiss anyone who could be of any help/advice.

when i recognized ic the first time i was really excited cause i thought this is a plugin that brings mc to the next stage of development!

Meanwhile this plugin is getting more and more to a tool for devs and less for users...

BUT were are the devs that use IC.. Asdraag has transfered some great mods to bukkit.. and introduces now new coding possibilites BUT again who are the users of this plugin.. are there actully any devs using IC to convert data to bukkit?

what i want to say: IC is the best workaround i have seen as user, but if no one uses this to convert data its in the long term useless....

  8. Apologies, I had to go out - only just got back.
OK, at least we've found the point at which it doesn't connect. Have you deleted the meta-inf folder from both server & client jar files and then tried to connect with IC loaded on the server with no mods ?

@GrindGod The dev side is still a mess, no documentation even yet :p That's why I started working on the GUI so it would be easier for devs to do stuff, even so easy eventually that regular users can use it. Besides once devs get on to this it will provide much large number of plugins to users :)

I just finished the Intellisense, so now it shows a list of functions applicable in the current context. Next is built in documentation using reflection and annotations :)
  10. The only advice I can offer is that each client who wants to connect to your server MUST have exactly the same mods installed on their client-side jar file. I used a clean install client-side, then added Kslopes on server, and Kslopes + modloader client-side. tried it, it worked, then I added mo creatures server & client, tried it, it worked, finally I added Fancypack server & client, tried it, it worked. I haven't tried the trees mod. I'm not sure if anyone tring to connect to your server has more mods on their client than the ones your server is running, they may have connection issues. I haven't run tests to confirm that, but I did run tests to know that whatever mods you are running with IC on the server-side, you HAVE to have the same mods loaded client-side. You could ask the people trying to connect to backup their current client minecraft.jar file, then do a clean 1-5-01 install, then build the minecraft.jar ONLY with the mods you are running on your server and see how you get on. Alternatively, you must know how you built your own mods into your minecraft.jar, perhaps you could talk them through how you did it.
If the client is lacking a mod in some way, when trying to connect to the server, the client throws a'string length' error, but the only way your users could see that error is if they are running the jar version of minecraft, not the .exe version - both are available from the main site.

I think in most Cases its just a Problem of finding the right Syntax.
    For example addBlock
    addBlock <int> <Material> --> SimpleBlock

int is the ID Number i suppose and Material is self explanatory.
But finding the right Syntax isnt that easy.
    A few things ive tried:
    "240 WOOD" addBlock
    240 "WOOD" addblock
    240 WOOD addBlock

Im still trying to wrap my Head around it. I learned some Basic Modding too in the last few Days. I can code very Simlpe Blocks. :p I hope that with Time ill figure it out eventually. Good Things come to people who wait and study. :)
  12. I think you may have a conflict with something else here - not sure what it would be though. I've been running IC for nearly a week now with no signs of the server stress you are posting about. My servers are running with around 30% load with 4 / 5 users on and they go down to 3% CPU load with no users on - and stay there.

That "documentation" is going to be subject to major overhaul since it was done when I hadn't switched over to postfix. I'll post it in a bit with a sample documentation using annotations I've made. Then I'll add more tomorrow. Btw with "blahblah" you get only strings, not materials. to get a Material you need to use addMaterial.
Edit: Well, ok, a useful function is missing, one that gets the built in Material types.

    Hi Icephantom,
I have the Meta-Inf folders deleted and then have try it but i was disconnect.

    Thank's for your help !!!

Thanks with your Tip i got it. :D
    The right Syntax is
    240 addMaterial addBlock.

Edit. Ill wait then till the overhauled Documentation is up. :)

  17. An odd one, however, last thing I can think to try, is wih your clean install minecraft.jar, now add Kslopes to the server along with IC, and add modloader mod and Kslopes mod to your client-side minecraft.jar and try to connect again. Hopefully you might have success ?
Won't be able to post further until tomorrow now.

Okay so Ill go ahead and call myself a newb, but while I am normally pretty good at just googling and forum-hopping my way into getting most games/mods working and everything, I am completely lost with how to install this. And also I am wondering if it is only the mods that are shown in this topic that are compatible with Itemcraft. For instance the tree guy also has a beekeeping and wolves mod. Are those compatible with it?....Basically if anyone could have a chat with me and answer a few questions help me get it working and not mind the completely newb questionair I would appreciate it.... Just in case someone is able to answer it here, Ill explain what Im trying to get....Me and a friend are playing around on a craftbukkit server we are just running for us. 2-3 people using it at a time....What we want is the mo-animals mod....One of those plant/tree spreader mods... and some other little random things that are in the plugins section. If anyone has suggestions on how to get all or some of this to work. I'd be grateful. thanks.
  19. Currently, I only know about the mods advertised in the initial post being available to run with ItemCraft. Maybe someone has got more things to run, if so, perhaps they could advertise their success ?.
So, in quick answer the Trees mod (and I'm talking about the minecraft forum page where the trees mod is advertised) is the only one available to work with IC (ItemCraft) at the moment, the others advertised along with the Trees mod will not work (at the moment, and to my knowledge - unless someone else knows more).
Mo Creatures works fine with IC, however you currently are not able to ride / train horses, and some people have reported problems with the water mobs. If you try riding a horse, you get kicked from the server. I haven't come across any new water mobs yet, so I am unable to comment about issues raised by other people about these.
It took a little work to get this plugin working, but if you succeed, its well worth the effort. You are better sticking with bukkit #766 as that's what the plugin dev advises. It won't work with 1.6 yet, so if you've upgraded your client, unless you can downgrade again, you won't be able to use this plugin.
You really need to read the initial post about installation. I used a clean clientside minecraft.jar and installed the plugins one at a time. Take note, that if you add a plugin to IC (i.e. kslopes and mo creatures) then you MUST install the clientside files for both those mods as well - try to stick to only installing clientside files to match the mods installed on your server with IC. Hope this makes sense to you. It's always difficult to make things understandable with words alone.

Waiting for it and 1.6 port also :)

For some just deleting the META-INF doesnt work as is seems. Try renaming it instead of deleting.

i dont know about it is just me that got the problem or that it is just me that got the smelt recipe wrong. If you add your own furnace recipe for example
you are smelting a mosnter spawner to 10 diamonds and when you want to craft anything with the 10 diamonds like a sword you simply cant craft it

Hmm, how do I change the ids of MoreTrees with the new startup script? It's conflicting with each other x).

Look in the Wiki. Theres a Tutorial on Kslopes/Trees conflicting IDs.
If you have conflicting IDs with another MOd you installed you have to look it up yourself.

I tried that method, but it didn't work.

    This is my init.ic:

    "com.asdaarg.bukkit.itemcraft" package use
    "net.minecraft.server" package use
    "ItemCraft" class use
    "plugins.ic" include
    "conflict.ic" include
    ## Comment to turn off GUI:
    "ItemCraft" class
    "ICS" class
    And my conflict.ic:

    "blockTopiary" 153 setID
    "blockPalmLeaves" 154 setID
    "blockPalmTrunk" 155 setID
    "blockPalmSapling" 156 setID
    "blockBanana" 157 setID
    "blockBananaCake" 158 setID
    "blockLeavesGeneric" 159 setID
    "blockLogGeneric" 160 setID
    "blockLeavesFruit" 161 setID
    "blockAppleFlower" 163 setID
    "blockAppleFFlower" 164 setID
    "blockAppleSapling" 165 setID
    "blockCherrySapling" 162 setID
    "blockVines" 152 setID
    And this is the error:
2011-06-03 22:29:42 [INFO] ItemCraft: Problem initializing ICNTrees 0.1.1

Hmm, I saw also a error with GUI, I will turn that off because I'm using linux.

Hooray :D, got it workin' :). But when I updated from 0.8 to 1.2 (big update :)) I didn't get it to work with McMyAdmin anymore. Is there anyone who got 1.2 working with McMyAdmin?

Well, I waited until the flurry of updates slowed down a tad and installed 1.2.2 over a fresh CB766 install using KSlopes, MoCreatures and FancyPack. Everything ran flawlessly with a little bit of tweaking, so I must have done something wrong somewhere with my previous install. Thank you for all your awesome work asgaard! Hopefully the people that play on my server will enjoy this as much as I do.

    I might have missed it, but I don't think I've seen the Coral Reefs mod nominated for integration. Would this be possible, or does the ItemID conflict with KSlopes keep it from being implemented?{SIMPLETEXT1}

Also, Mystic Ores would be spiffy (though it even states it isn't compatible with Coral Reefs, shucks)

    Thanks again!
