Inactive [MECH/DEV] ItemCraft 1.6.6 - Support for client mods in Bukkit [1060/1000]

    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      • Others:

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    You can not translate this mod using ItemCraft I think. This mod uses ModLoaderMP and therefor it needs to be ported to the Bukkit ModLoaderMP.
    I really hope someone can do that, because I want that mod as well.

    I've a problem with my minecraft.jar.
    Can anyone send me a finished minecraft.jar with SuperSlope? (when I want to connect to my server with my client, it will hanging... :/

    You don't have to put the SuperSlopes file in your minecraft.jar. Just put the archive in the mods folder.

    Are you sure about that? I've searched the topic, and all I saw was that the creator doesn't want to do it himself, not that he doesn't want it at all.

    Something different though. I'm a little confused by things. I've stayed at 1.6.6 for a while now, and when I finally update everything, it says that ModLoaderMP is loaded. But I thought ItemCraft was only compatible with the Bukkit ModLoaderMP, or is it actually included and you only need to add the mods to the craftbukkit.jar?

    Absolutely. QwertyPower wanted to do the port and ask for the permission to the mod author. He has not accepted. :(

    ModLoaderMP is already IN Itemcraft, yep. You just need to install the mod that have been made compatible by liar on this thread. And as usual, you need the correspondig mod client-side. ;)

    What have you already installed on your client ?

    Thank you for pointing this out! I've been away from this topic for too long it seems. But the mod still needs to be installed into the craftbukkit.jar, right?

    I'm also working on my own mod and will port this to ItemCraft, but I'll have to fix the spontaniously not-working generator problem first...

    EDIT: It's probably not possible to have IndustrialCraft, FancyPack and Mo' Creatures on the same server, right? Since IC used that many blocks and such.

    Nope, you need to install the mod in the Itemcraft.jar file, not the craftbukkit one. :)

    You also need the 16 bit entity packet mod that you can find here.

    in your plugins.ic.

    If you are not using ModLoaderMP mod, add this line in your init.ic file.
    false setPacket230OnLogin
    Be sure to add it before the line :
    "plugins.ic" include

    Anyway, I'll wait for some other ModloaderMP mods to be ported then. Since, well... most of them suck, in my opinion. Aside from IC, but someone on my server doesn't want that one.

    Hello, I have a little problem.
    No error. I just want to know if I can keep the Bookshelf[bookshelf] with the FancyPack who replace it by Shelves.

    I have this
    #ICFancyPack 0.3.2 now allows changing these using icscript:
    #Settings (all are ints 0 or 1):
    in my plugin.ic but I've try several times, I never found how to keep my bookshelf :'(

  24. If you want a server that will run just planes, guns and vehicles, then download HERE - just click on the minecraf6.bat file to start (assuming Windows).
    For the client - start with a clean unmodded 1.7-3 minecraft.jar. Download from this link HERE. Inside this zip are all the mods you will need. All these need putting into your minecraft.jar file - and these are all you'll need to put in the minecraft.jar. The mods are numbered, so that's the order you put them into your minecraft.jar
    Now, finally, download from HERE. Inside this zip, put the files in the mods directory in your .minecraft/mods, put the folder in the resources directory in your .minecraft/resources, and put the text files and property files into your .minecraft folder. Job done.
    **** The update you asked for - I've only tested that the server will run, and that you can join if you configure your minecraft.jar correctly with the mods in the link supplied.
    These are updated with Bukkit #1000 & the latest flans mods only - Planes, Vehicles & WW2Guns. I have not tested that all features work correctly - sorry, currently I haven't had much time.

    I have not had much time recently - mainly due to my hard drive being a little on the dead side. However, I have given your ** Unofficial ** Itemcraft 165 a try - the one thing I am unable to work out is why I can join a server with your Itemcraft version without putting the 16bit entity mod in my client ? Is this something you've missed off for some reason ? - and can you supply the source please ( if you haven't already somewhere)

    Currently, No - several users have asked, but it is a really big mod and would require much manpower hours to port it across to Itemcraft. I know of no mod-porter that has been willing to take it on.

  26. That is a BIG question, and one which I am unable to fully answer in a small post in this thread. You also need to know how to program in java.
    Best suggestion to start with is to have a quick read HERE.

    Can I also point you at THIS thread. If you are interested in mods, then this may be worth your time - its a called BukkitContrib and is being programmed by @Afforess who is well known for his MinecraftMainia plugin for bukkit (amongst other things). It's still in an alpha state, but is progressing.

    I can't get The baby creatures to work and interact with them I can see them, but whenever I use seed on one of them, my server just gives an error and leaves me off with nothing, fiddling about and putting the entire zip in the mods folder gives me this error:
