    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    I tried translating the aether mod according to this and I failed miserably, got stuck at step 6 of part 1.

    Is this what I'm supposed to have written in plugins.ic in the ICScripte folder:

    After I ran translateMCP.bat , two folders (java, bin) appeared in the retro folder. The java folder was empty and a file called minecraft_rg (an executable jar file) was in the bin folder. What do I do from then on?
    Otherwise, could someone help port the aether mod for me before I accidentally set my pc on fire whilst trying to translate.

    The bookshelf can't be used via Itemcraft because of the GUI. Change the config to use the legacy shelves and you will have your bookshelves back.

    We really need more infos on translating.
    Perhabs we should start an own thread for this. Or we meet in IRC or something else to answer a lot of questions.
    Anyone must have successfully translated some mods.

    I got the translated source of a few mods now, but a lot of things make no sense.
    I believe i'm usind wrong versions. Are there maps out for 1.7.3. Or do i have to use the 1.7.2 maps and the corresponding minecraft.jar and bukkit?

    Now i'm not able to translate the mod, because a lot of fields are not translated and i can't find the corresponding functions in any Maps.
    If i deobfuscate minecraft.jar with MCP, there are all the methods i need.

    I'm a real Java pro... perhabs anyone needs my coding skills and we can try translating together.

    Tried the thing out again, I got to step 4 of Translation. When I type:
    "C:\\blah\\mod\\" file "C:\\blah\\translatedmod\\" file translate1
    I end up with it loading a huge list of stuff, all ending with not found.
    C:\blah\java\ not found.

    Why are so many *.java files not found? Also, is my C:\blah\java folder supposed to be empty? That could be the reason why. I've also tried putting the minecraft.jar in that folder with no avail.

    None of the ModloaderMP mods have been updated to Bukkit 1.7.3 yet and the guy porting them to Bukkit is away or something and can't work on them right now, Planes almost works but causes server crashes because of changes between 1.7.2 and 1.7.3, don't know about guns but I assume it's the same.

    They can be more or less problematic to port. Finite Liquids, is of the more problematic sort, but it is possible with some work. When porting mods that modify original class files, in the reference folder you extract the mod files to, you have to rename then or make dummy files with the MCP name rather than the obfuscated name, since these will be renamed by retroguard. This way the translator knows to translate the corresponding java files.
    If a mod
    A) only modifies, entities, blocks or items: It is possible to use ICscript, or directly hardcode into the initialization of the ICplugin to remove the original variant and replace it with the new one. I have done this with ICFancyPack blocks both using script before but now it is coded into the initialization.
    B) modifies other files that ItemCraft does not modify: These can most likely (although there may be exceptions) not be dealth with as above but has to be injected into ItemCraft like ModLoaderMP mods, or alternatively override the originals by running it in front of IC as a separate jar. You'll probably have to merge the mod with the original bukkit java file to avoid removing stuff that are needed for Bukkit to work.
    C) modifies ItemCraft files: In this case you do the same as above except you merge with the IC java file.
    With Finite Liquids you will have to do C as it does modify the same files.

    I have put my mod file in E:\\jeux\\itemcraft\\retro\\seasons
    The TranslateMCP extract the files in retro\\java

    Anyone could help me ?

    I use bukkit #1000 and itemcraft 1.6.4

    Look at your translate.ic.
    There you habe to put in the folder where you extracted the mod to, not the java folder of retro!

    Check Step 3!

  26. I have crafbukkit #1000 and the ItemCraft #1000. I also downloaded Mo' Creatures for 1.7.3.
    When I enter the server, Minecraft just freezes to black screen and the console gives following message.

    I have no plugins installed on the server and I did exactly like the tutorial video showed, I added ItemCraft.jar to the root folder of Bukkit and changed the launching line, downloaded the Mo' Creatures and added it to the ICPlugins folder and changed the file from ICScripts to "ICMCreatures.jar" plugin. I also have removed the META-INF from the bukkit.jar.

    What did I do wrong or what is wrong with it? I also tried using the bukkit #953 instead, but didn't work either.

    Did you try the mo's creature in singleplayer mod ?
  28. Yes, I did. It works just fine in sp.

    The 2.11 did not work fine though, I didn't see any mobs at all. Then I installed 2.12 instead and the mobs work fine in sp, but I still have problems with MP.

    Can you send us your init.ic and your plugin.ic ?
    I suppose you have install the 16 bit entity packet mod ?
  30. I noticed I was missing 16bit entity packed and the ModLoadMP, whasoever, I installed those and now I just get this:
    "Internal exception: Bad packet id 230"

    Normally with this that should work

    You don't need the modloaderMP with the mo's creature,
    see the documentation to know which plugin use the modloaderMP
  32. I did that. Now I get this to the console instead.
