ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    • Add more Block types
    • Add more Item types
    • Add more Entity types
    • Add more TileEntity types
    • Add more Crafting recipes
    • Add more Smelting recipes
    • Add more Tree generators
    • Ported ModLoader interface
    • Ported ModLoaderMP interface
    • Fake GUIAPI Settings interface
    • Startup file for configuring plugins and making simple blocks and items

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.
    • To start:
      • Windows:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar;craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main
      • Others:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar:craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

That said, I want to thank all who have helped users with their problems. In particular special thanks to icephantom and Asymetrikon for their big efforts in this. Also a special thanks to xeronut for being generally helpful.

  2. Any chance you could post the links to those files under your 1.7-3 section in the Op please ?

They are linked to "maps" via "How to use" (ICTranslator) from the OP. Actually they're also directly linked to if you click on "Qwertypower files" in the OP.

Also ICKSlopes 0.1.1 is now up. Tested and working with 1.7.3.
  4. OK, that's a lot of mods. I haven't tried that many together, so its possible that you have an ID conflict going on which is causing the client to crash - I'd have to run some tests on that amount of mods, for the moment, I can only suggest you look at the version of planes mod - this needs Planes 1.6.6 v14 to run - I don't think it works with Planes v.15

I've been having issues with the server using Itemcraft lately. I've never got it functioning, but I know I'm doing something wrong. I can't figure out what it is though. I'm trying to install two plugins, Mo' Creatures, and Slopes. I don't care if it's 1.6.6 or 1.7.2 or 1.7.3. I just want these two plugins working. I have the necessary minecraft.jar files (all clean) I just can't figure out how to get the server and client compatible with each other. I've followed the OP and the wiki. It just won't work for me.

ICNTrees have been updated for 1.7.3. Tested and seems to be working fine. You need the newest ItemCraft because generators have been broken since the merge.

Hey asdaarg, I fixed the server for Slopes, however, my Minecraft crashed and it keeps crashing, I followed your instructions though o.o
  18. Offline

    a) look in modloader.txt for an error
    b) if that doesn't work, start minecraft from commandline and see if it outputs the error.

Btw, I updated the installation instructions now, clarifying some things and added link to the unofficial ModLoaderMP update.

Eeeeeggcellent - I'll have to test this out. A friend of mine wants to run a server with all the plugins I have on mine, but wants proper pistons - this is one step closer to realizing that. Thanks asgaard!
If I find anything off about it I'll post here. I hope Nandonalt updates Coral Reefs soon as well - ItemCraft plugin or not, my SSP worlds seem so empty without them.

First, thanks to those that have been working hard to get this working for the masses. Lindrack, your tutorial was especially helpful. After 5 days of unsuccessful and frustrating attempts, your guide was pivotal.

I have a working server that uses Slopes and the FancyPack. I see that ItemCraft has been updated. I wish to update, but am deathly afraid to go through another 5 day ordeal. Having used Lindrack's tutorial, how should I go about updating? I would like to be running the latest version -- but would much rather keep the version i have now than end up with no working version at all.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

ho, your server runing with FancyPack? do you know why my FencyPack dont work? when i try to craft i have a fire, with "Unknow item"...

You can always backup everything, both clientside and server side. If it doesn't work out, you restore the backup. I've updated the instructions recently for 1.7.3. I suggest you start off from scratch with a fresh craftbukkit and minecraft jar. Install first all client mods, make sure they all work in SSP first. Then follow the instructions in the OP. When all is working, you copy in your world(s) and plugins and such.

Can anyone update ICMCreatures to work with the newest Version of ItemCraft(1.7.2/1.7.3 cb953) and DrZhark's Mo's Creatures v2.12?

I tested it with the old ICMCreatures and it doesnt work, there are no new Creatures spawning...

Meh heh heh.. I'm an idiot. I figured out a way to place coral even if you can't summon or harvest it: use VoxelSniper's Clone/Stamp brush. Works like a charm, though ICNReefs plugins is pretty buggy. You can't place contiguous coral or they all break. All coral can be placed out of water because the coral growths are considered underwater blocks - you move through them and gain air meters as if you're submerged. If you place coral with the clone brush most of them break when you pour water on top of them, ironically. You can also grow the brown and green kelpish coral infinitely tall instead of tapering off at 3 blocks high. Brown coral doesn't hurt you either, and bubbles spring off of all coral even if they don't give air when you pass through them. Finally, coral blocks act so that if running or source water touch them, you can only get rid of the flowing water by placing solid blocks or destroying the coral itself - it infinitely feeds the flowing water blocks..

Random post, sure, but I found all of this out while building my giant sand castle. Perhaps it'll help someone still on 1.6.6 - I can post pictures if anyone wants.

I don't understand though. Minecraft has only 256 Block IDs, which are items that are actual blocks that you place down, right?
And then it has like 30,000 item ids, which are just items... correct?
So how is it that it's unable to load those 3 mods when Industrial Craft uses lets say 60 blocks, and planes I think only has 1, and Mo' Creeps none?

I might be completely wrong, but that's what I think

I second this. All I need is this and I'm set for 1.7.3.

This is a question rooted in well-meaning ignorance: Is it not possible for MinecraftExtended (increases Block ID to 1024, I think) to be incorporated into this or a similar method worked out? Is this unfeasable? I'm pretty ignorant of the coding so you wont need to worry about trying to give an in depth explanation.

I can have a look at it once i updated the Mods. But i cant promise anything.
But it would be awesome it it worked.
