    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Nice work there GrindGod, I couldn't get all my stuff into two screenshots even if I wanted to, since I have been heavily working on the client side of my mod for now, and well most of the bukkit plugins haven't been updated, hope they will work with the new recommended build, because im close to finishing my first part of the mod, concerning the Kaevator slopes, where I added only 6 material types from that mod and added in 6 new materials, so that my players on the server will be able to build Straw, Reinforced Straw, Wooden Plank, Rounded Wooden Plank, Wooden Schindel and Corrugated Red Metal Roofs with the help of Kaevator Slopes mod.

    Can't wait to test this plugin, but I still have a ton of work to do for the client side for now... And I see, that I am not the only one who is working, good luck there asdaarg for making the plugin more advanced, with more features and cleaning the bugs out!

    The real fun will start, when I will add the blocks to the server through your plugin, because already for now I have:

    GrindGod: Nice textures you've got there. Did you use one id per texture or did you use metadata?

    Aeron: I'm really looking forward to your mod too, been drooling at those textures for a long time :p

    I'm currently looking at the MCP scripts and at retroguard to do the reverse of Myers Carpenter's Crazy and then compile with janino. If succesful, I might be able to make automated porting of client side block classes from various mods.

    Hehe, all my creations have a 128, 64, 32 and even 16 pixel resolution textures, because my client installer has High, Medium, Low and Default Graphical options in Textures to select to, because not everyone can play the game on top Graphics.

    I am really looking forward into my mod to be server compatible as soon as possible too, because I was planned to open my server to the public at 05.05.2011, but then your mod came up and I delayed the launch, so that I can finish up my mod and implement it as fast as I can, but I am doing it very carefully, because if something goes wrong, and the IDs change or something comes incompatible with other mods, well then the server map is screwed, because it would be hard to seek out and destroy all the blocks related to those IDs, once the mod goes live.

    Also I started making my blocks starting with ID 130, to leave room for Notch's creations.. hope that will last for a while.

    asdaarg if I add a block using metadata instead of id will it count in the 256 maximum block values?

    It says that there is a way to load this without a Mod Loader, just as a plug-in (0.3.3.) It says there is a little trick so that the blocks will load every time correctly on server-start-up.
    However, this link takes you nowhere but back to this forum. Somebody please tell me how to load this as a plug-in so that it will function correctly.

    Each block can have up to 16 subtypes using metadata, so the theoretical limit is 4096 different types of blocks if you count subtypes. There are 3 ways to go even beyond that. The most obvious is to change all id code from byte to short, so you can have 65536 block types, about 1 million if you count the subtypes. But this would require a lot of messing around including with the chunk file format and is generally not worth it thinking about that it has to be done over again after each update. The two less obvious ways, and viable without changing a lot of code, a) using tile entites, which opens up a practically limitless amount of possible types of blocks, but it is probably best if these blocks are used sparsely. b) use of id/metadata of nearby blocks e.g. portals and redstone wires. I've thought about doing for instance an extension to superslopes: placing several slopes in a row, will create a steeper slope.

    Sounds like a feature of some anti-greifing plugin. I often see alot of those plugins come with features such as denying the ability to place hard to destroy blocks such as obsidian.

    I don't think itemcraft would do this, it isn't doing it in my server anyway. Keep up the good work asdaarg, what you're doing is amazing!!! Have some cake! [cake]

    I am so utterly confused it's not even funny. I am just trying to get this with Kslopes working on my computer, just to understand what I'm doing.

    I'm using Craftbukkit 766 and ItemCraft 4.3 (I think, I'm using whatever one I just downloaded 45 minutes ago lol). I used the normal start.bat set up, just to get the folders and such to generate. I then put ItemCraft and Kslopes (the one downloaded from here) into my plugin folder, deleted the META-INF file, and changed my start.bat file to

    Sorry for the confusion, it appears the this happen when the File is not found I updated 0.4.4 so the output is more detailed now.

    Well someone has to make the plugin for the trees. We asked nandonalt to do it and he accepted but I said to wait because I'm working on being able to do this automatically. I'm currently having problems with retroguard though.

    Its possible currently through making a plugin, but I could add an option to do it through the startup file.

    Ok, I got it to load in, there's no errors on the console, but when I try to craft something, I put wood in a shape to make whatever, and as soon as I place the last piece in the crafting space, it either shows up for half a second then disappears or it stays and I can't click it or pull it out of the space.

    Oh, and I couldn't rename the META-INF file, so I had to delete it. It would do an error sound and say change not implemented. I use 7-zip

    What version of CB are you using? It is likely not to work without the recommended version 766 simply because I'm modding some of CB's files that are subject to change much more than the bukkit API.

    I'm having a hard time getting the client to work with the server, and I can't find any install guide except the one for single player.
    I have tried with just Kaevator SuperSlopes K3 v2 MC 1.5_01
    and with ModLoader Beta 1.5_01v3 + Kaevator SuperSlopes K3 v2 MC 1.5_01 that is the instructions for sp
    and I also tried with Modloader MP + ModLoader Beta 1.5_01v3 + Kaevator SuperSlopes K3 v2 MC 1.5_01.
    And I also tried without the mod, I get the same error on the server every time I try to connect with or without the mod.

    As soon as I connect to the server I get a bunch of errors, The client will just stay on loading for quite some time and then give me this error:
                 Connection Lost
    Internal Exception: Read timed out
    I did everything as GrindGod Explained
    except for using the latest version of the plugin 0.4.4 and cb 766.
