I know this forum gets slaughtered with "my bukkit server is teh failzorz. plz helppp" threads all the time. but i can never find a solution that works for me. so here it goes.
Situation: I built a bukkit server a few weeks ago and have had it running more or less non-stop. several people were able to join from all over the place. a few days ago, java had a minor update. I updated, and restarted my computer. Then the server was having issues that i couldn't resolve, So I did a rebuild and now the server works.
    sort of.
outside people cannot connect to my server. they get the message "cannot find server."
when i do a port check, my port (25565) is unable to be found. the connection times out.
my external and intenal IPs are the same as before. all the server settings are the same as before.
the catch: when i boot up a basic server provided by mojang, friends can connect and my port can be seen with a port checker.

what in the name of all that is peanut butter sandwich is going on?

extra info: I am running an Apple airport extreme base station on Win7.
for realsies. I am lost. completely and utterly lost.

    anyone?

Hi rob0tsmasher, I had the same problem, do you have a friend that you can call that knows how to setup a server???

    EDIT:
If you really need help make a message with Bump, and this will put it back up on the forums. Refrain from doing this often because people get annoyed very easily with this.

Just to make sure, because a moderator edited your post, is the server ip field blank?

We wouldn't edit out anything like that. His post is how it is.

His problem, however, is most likely the Windows firewall, and the connection not being properly forwarded there.

But if that were the case, why would it work fine for normal minecraft but not for bukkit?
rob0tsmasher check your windows firewalls blocked and allowed programs make sure no java programs are being blocked

Not forwarding the ports, but rather clicking accept to forward the connection for the program will do it. Common issue.

    checking my firewall.
i think it has something to do with the new build of the bukkit RUN.bat file. it is much less complex.

TnT windows firewall groin-kicked the new java build. i knew it had to be super simple.
if anyone could lend a moment to verify that the server is working properly, kudos.
    IP REMOVED!

Thanks for the help. I was having a meltdown.
