@Jenday They both allow to set groups in game.
You need to use the commands for that, not the files.

when ever I look up a tutorial online they make you do all this coding first. That's where i kill it every time

@Jenday You should be able to just install the plugin, and then use the commands.

LuckPerms. It is not buggy and in my opinion the best plugin out there. It only allows you to set up groups in-game.

    Quick and Easy tutorial:
    1. In game do /lp create group <group_name>
    2. To set permission do /lp group <group_name> permission set <some_permission>. LuckPerms is great and shows all the permissions possible that you can set to that group.
    3. To set prefixes (I assume you have a chat plugin) do /lp group <group_name> meta setprefix <weight> <prefix>. Weight means that if the player has member tag as well and the member group has a weight of 1, having a weight of 2 will override it meaning that that group's prefix will only show and the member tag won't.
    4. To assign the group to an user, do /lp user <user> parent set <group_name>.
    5. To have the group inherit another group's permissions, do /lp group <group_one> parent add <group_two>. This means group_one will inherit all of group_two's permissions.
