I'm running a private server and I was wondering what are the main causes of lag? Me and my friends were thinking of web hosting our server but before that we would like to know what are the causes of lag usually, can anyone help us? Thxx
Mobs, tnt, large world filesize, entities, etc... It would be very difficult to list them all, but there are quite a few plugins that can help stop lag caused by these things. If it's a private server, you should have nothing really to worry about.
