I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

You didn't set you MySQL server data in LB config.
    1. An error occured while banning. That's an mcbans issue, ask there.
    Did you enable questioner.askRollbackAfterBan?

    Yes, I did enable that.
But what about the not recognising /yes problem?

@DiddiZ does this mean questioner is broken? I'm having the same issue.

I had a admin that did a fatal mistake and did a rollback but missed a param so he rolled back the server to 23/12-11.
When he noticed his mistake he did a redo and now everything is messed up.

Is there a chance to recover from this?
I have loggning active and also dump of the sql.
when I tries the import folder and adds the dumpfile renamed to .sql I get the following errors (shorted it down a bit).

Unfortunately, the dumps are saved as csv and not as self containing file.
mysql section in LB config: username, url, password etc.
Likely there is an database connection error, check your server.log.
    @godgodgodgo @obscurehero
Seems like I have to check the questioner.

hey guys ive been using logblock for a while, but everytime i right clieck a block with my wooden pick it takes more than 10 second to show up? anyway i could make it faster. there is no lag on the server so it cant be that

    What would be the problem.

Also, how do I specify a table and how many rows does it need?

Ty, but that's not LogBlock, but more likely a plugin called BukkitStats :D
    Either here or
The MySQL server isn't accessible, either because of you entered wrong data for host/port, the MySQL server isn't running, or is refusing remote connections.
LB creates the tables itself, you just need the database.

Either set up a local mysql server (if using a remote one) or increase the index buffer so the coordinate indexes can be keept in memory and no I/O is required to search for the block changes.
  15. Offline

I switched servers to localhost. It works, but I keep getting THIS error instead :p

It says it's disabled, but I can use /lb commands, use the tool to check stuff etc
  16. Offline

Whenever i use the tool or the block, it says "No results" even if i just broke the block and placed the bedrock there.

i use a mac and i dont know any way to make myself a mysql server, aslo i dont know how to increase the index buffer, thanks for the help

I didn't test yet but it seems enchanted equip will be normal after rolling back :X
    (LB 1.41) I hope it's fixed in 1.5 will try now :D

Logblock isn't logging for me, I have blockplace and blockbreak on true, mysql information I put in, is correct as well.
  20. Offline

Ok big problem it seems logblock deleted the old tables after updating ?

Now everything is somewhat lost :(
I replaced all configs (and just inputted the data again)

    Hi DiddiZ,

Awesome plugin, great work!! Seems to work a treat.

I am receiving an error/warning but it doesn't seem to affect anything - it does say to tell you though so thought i would :)

I know zip about java but I'm gonna guess and say it's a conflict with another plugin.....?

I haven't timed what I have been doing with the logs due to lack of time but if you want me to in aid of troubleshooting I'd be more than happy to.

Hey, I always ask for things, but may you simply add a world command thats like <global> for multiworlds. It would help me so much as sometimes my staff ban people and mcbans tells logblock to roll them back, well if I unban them and want to unroll them back, rather then retyping /lb redo player .. world legit etc over and over just like world <global>.

I just updated logblock with the new config but copied and pasted the original sql info but it didnt keep any of the previous logs. it made new logs??

Happned to us too. I know a fault on our part we should have backups of everything and backups of these backups.
But a small notice would have been nice :p
  25. Offline

Set version in LB config to '1.30', the autoupdater will create the missing tables.
Have a look at your world config, logging might be disabled there.
    Try "/lb savequeue" before lookup.
    No, LB never deletes tables.
    Check you loggedWorlds list.

Do you happen to know under what circumstances this happens?
    This will come with guardian.

Can I somehow merge them easily ?

A question about Guardian: Will the "log display design" be part of Guardian? Like, the "Block changes at 538:103:-193 in world: 01-04 17:30:55 marvinbek destroyed grass" part. I think the HawkEye design looks ugly but LogBlock's design looks nice and there is no unneeded information.

    This will be congurable :D
    INSERT IGNORE INTO `newtable` (date, playerid, replaced, type, data, x, y, z) SELECT date, playerid, replaced, type, data, x, y, z FROM `oldtable`;
But chest and sign data will be lost.
