I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)

Nope I definitely have that in my parameters (also, I thought it defaults to a certain time, like 30minutes). Is there any other reason that might be the cause?
  3. Offline

kk, give me an example of a command that works for lookup, but not for rollback.
  4. Offline

/lb lookup player Rayzero area 3 since 3m works with it finding me placing down some test dirt and such
/lb rollback player Rayzero area 3 since 3m doesn't work with it finding 0 block changes.

I noticed when i did a reload, it had 50k in queue... almost like its not processing things right. Havr there been any config changes? using build 33 with bukkit 1207
  6. Offline

No config changes, besides tools and enderman.
1.8 maps generate more fluids in caves. You can disable water and/or lava logging.
    Or adjust your consumer settings.
Strange. Can you give me your ip to check that?

I tried to use logblock but every command I enter does nothing, it doesn't even say "you don't have permission"?

I have set up a mysql server but it has made no difference, being OP doesn't solve it either, it acts as if it isn't there but doesn't come up with the use help error message.

I'm using permissionsbukkit because my server is being hosted by redstonehost with mcmyadmin so using permissions doesn't work because I can't export permissions config.yml through mcmyadmin's User Interface.

Also hawkeye has the same problem and now bigbrother D:

    Can you help me?
  8. Offline

    Yes I am.
I use the same mysql host to support my forums, and they have never had a problem.
  9. Offline

Well, forums need much lesser resources, and no constant connection.
When not even "/lb" works, it's not running. Check for the error log at server start/reload.
  10. Offline

Any way I can fix it?
  11. Offline

Yeah, post the error log :D
  12. Offline

I gave you the error log!
    It's below the config.
  13. Offline

    Sry, sometimes I'm just blind.
Solution would be a local MySQL server
  14. Offline

Is there a different way for you to diagnose the problem? Have you never encountered something like this?

EDIT: Timezones. The problem was timezones. I got it, so don't worry about it anymore. Thanks a bunch for this great plugin!

Your newest build, #34, kinda screws me over. Everytime I go to use an LB command, it just says, "Usage: /lb help".
I even tried using /lb help, and it keeps saying "Usage: /lb help", so I had to downgrade to your build #30. I might be able to get a picture of it or just copy and paste the error.
  18. Offline

Hm, there is the error missing ... Really no access to server.log?
  19. Offline

EDIT: I even deleted the config file and let it re-create so it would be an updated config file, but it still didn't work.
  20. Offline

Yup, all I have access to is MCMyAdmin and the static files on the pc (which I get through FTP)

I guess Thats what I get for Having a serverhost. :(
  21. Offline

#30 works with CB #1191- and #34 with CB #1192+
    There was an api break.
  22. Offline

Isn't CB #1191 a Dev Build? If I'm right about that, #30 works with build #1185?
  23. Offline

    Yes and yes :D
  24. Offline

Would you recommend me getting the latest Dev build? Or no?

EDIT: You should get yourself a Twitter.
  25. Offline

When you are using CB #1092+ that's the only LB version that'll run. And there are no known bugs.

Btw, promoted rc to stable release. Updated changelog.

Hey DiddiZ, is there anyway for you to update LogBlockQuestioner, I really like having the option to say yes or no to a pending rollback, instead of it instantly doing so.
