I can't seem to get this to work right. I put down a couple pieces of track, put a sign next to it with text of autoplace autobridge, put a storage cart with plenty of track & cobblestone in it on the rails. Gave it a push, and it rolled to the end of the tracks and off the end without putting rails down. When I also tried it with automine 1-25 I could see it did mine some stuff it got near as it rolled off the rails, but still didn't lay any track. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong ?

One other thing, I downloaded from the link under version 0.11, but when I started my server it said I had version 0.09.

Wow, even more maddening than not working at all, is the teases of working it's giving me. I've been trying to get this to work, and every now & then it lays down a couple piece of track then stops.

 

you can use "RangeY" from MM, if you want huge limits you have to edit the main MM Config, because there is a "max Y Range" settig, which overrides the sign. But be carefull, huge range => huge CPU usage!

Could you post a screenshot? And I need the direction you tried to. (use "trucompass" please.)

In general: the track should be 2-4 Pieces long, before the sign. (I got the best result with 3 pieces.) One track directly near the sign could cause problems, because the "move Minecart event" is fired after the cart left the track.

thats because I'm lazy and forgot to change it in code.

Do you get a "is server overloaded?" message? Sometimes it laggs a bit (as you can see it in the videos), because it takes some time until the client side world is updated.

 

The track direction was north/south. I started with 3 or 4 pieces of track, and it added another 2 or 3 pieces in the times it almost worked. I'm screenshot it next time I'm in that area. Last night I went off on an adventure through the nether and am now very far away.

I'll have to watch the logs next time I try it. I do see those messages, but I think everybody does. I'm running my MC server on one of my build machines at work, which has 8 Xeon cores at 2.33 Ghz, 10GB of memory and running 64bit Linux, so it's not like the server can't keep up (crappy Java performance notwithstanding).

I'll be totally psyched if I can get this to work, as I'm dying to run a rail line from the roof deck of my mountaintop chalet, over to the roof garden of a nearby fortress, and I really don't want to hand place the skyway & tracks.

I also have a feature suggestion: put a depth on the sign (either relative to current or an absolute Y value) and the minecart would ramp up or down as it autoplaces to reach the specified depth. If you wanted to be really fancy also allow specifying the slope ratio eg: 3:1 would mean go forward 3 blocks then up/down 1.

For the range settigs you may visit the MM wiki ididn't made these sign, they are part of the "signcommand" module.

But the config key is the right key... You have to set it to 40 or 50 before a sign "RangeY:40" has any effect.

No, If I say automine (1st line) 1-25 (2nd line) Autoplace (3rd line) and I start it up it will mine through soil and stop at stone it just won't mine the stone and its ID is 1 (And I said 1-25)

The only way it mines stone is when I add the Minestone parameter! (This takes up one more line so now I can't autobridge either!!!)

I upgraded to Bukkit build #1000 today and then I spent over an hour trying to build a new minecart station. I kept scratching my head, thinking: I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong! Eventually, I decided to try some tried and true stations, and my console spammed with SEVERE ERROR. I think Bukkit 1000 isn't compatible with the latest builds of MM. That's sad for my server since we eat sleep and breath MM over there, and I read this plugin isn't getting any updates until september.

If that's really the case, I'm going to check this page regularly as I hang on to 953 as long as possible, hoping for some kind of interim release. This is definitely one of the best plugins for bukkit. It's too bad the Mojang implementation of powered Minecarts is so redstone intensive and doesn't let me put people in the cart automatically, or take them out. Get well soon MM.

 

block drop is handled internaly (with a list.). Other plugins changing loot are ignored...

can you post the error? I got 1.7.3 / CB1000 on my server and it works fine. (MM 1.29Alpha)

Yes. It is a compatibility issue. Afforess change the logging methods. You could try: http://ci.craftfire.com/view/Afforess/job/Minecart Mania Core/ - that what I use in the moment. Problem: You also have to update all other MM stuff.

So I've been playing around with this quite a bit... I'm enjoying it, that's a good supplement to my daily mining. I still prefer to mine by hand and explore caves and all that, but when I need to clear a large area, that's definitely the tool to use! good job!!

I do have a question. In the changelog, I see "Minecart will no longer 1-block dead ends on curves or destroy slopes." I'm unsure as to how to have the minecart follow the slopes instead of destroying it... Any chance you can elaborate a little on that? Much appreciated!

Slopes are still a bit tricky. curves are no Problem as you see in the videos. The best way to get hin on slopes is to make them of a material the cart does not mine. (If you mine stone, make them with dirt, etc.)

 

I've got a problem the minecart just places 3 tracks and than stops no matter how many tracks i put inside. And there is another error when i put "rangeY" and "range" on one sign just "range" is used.
I use v. 0.13 mining and the 1.2.9 you posted of MMcore.

I use the following signs:
1st: AutoMine 1-3:12-16 rangeY:1 autoplace
2nd: autobridge range:1 max speed: 10

 

I know the issue with the range. It is an bug in the MMCore, so afforess has to fix it. ("rangey" contains "range" so the value is written in the "range" variable, not the rangey variable.)
Work around: use an extra sign for "rangey:"
