   Hello, I am a developer, and I am wondering how I can change Player Above head names (add a prefix) without an API. I've watched tutorials and read threads and I didn't find they help as they change the skin or do something else I don't like. I simply want prefixes above player's heads. If you could help that would be greatly appreciated.

   You can use the built in Bukkit scoreboard API and create teams with prefixes
