Hey, I am hosting a server from home and I have a great 10-11GB of RAM to host it on. I have 36 average-size plugins (Some are really light, some are really heavy), and am running at a max of 35 players. However, I read that 100mb per player is about the size you want, so can I actually support 100 players? I have pretty good internet and can handle at least 10 players with no lag. Please help, thank you!

@swegmec, some of the heavy servers will unfortunately eat RAM. Without plugins, 100 M per person is fine, but the more heavy plugins you use, the more ram needed by the plugin system AND players. It's all a guess and check process unfortunately.

As far as connection, you really need need at least 50 megabits per second for a strong server with over 20 people, both down and up. Up is usually the problem.

Note that this is subjective and opinions may vary when it comes to necessary network speed.
