I report necros whenever I see them, and I usually consider > 1 month to be a necro. I had a report rejected yesterday saying that a necro is at least 2 months. I just want some clarification on this, and to know when a necro is. Seems kinda like a grey area...

Generally 2 to 3 months and older.

@timtower So the limit is 2 months? Sometimes it's accepted at > 1 month, so I'm not sure exactly what it is.

@nverdier Difference between moderators mostly, we are still working on things.

  5. It is based on who handles it, everyone handles them differently. You can report ones you think are necro's and the staff online can either resolve or reject based on the time frame they deal necro's as.

As of how I generally consider it:

    • Anything less than 4 weeks is not a necro
    • Anything over 4 weeks can be considered a necro if it does not further the conversation
This can also still make a slight grey area with what is considered to be furthering the conversation, and very subjective depending on what the conversation is. There really can be no hard set rule for that.
