    Have you ever wanted to have portal gun in minecraft? Have you ever wanted to make your own portal test chambers and make your friends solve it? Now you can do this!

    PortalStick is plugin that tries to emulate Portal Gun as close as possible in Minecraft without client mods.

    compact portals are very glitchy and i strongly advice against using them, since orientation is completely messed up when you are shooting at longer ranges. This issue is not caused by compact portal itself, but by orientation detection system, which relies on bulkiness of normal portals. I need to figure out, how to make better orientation detection.

    Also a note: i will be away from tomorrow to Monday, so don't expect any answers from me in that time.

    PLEASE HELP ME I CANT GET THIS TO WORK!!!! OR ANY OF YOUR PLUGINS!!!! I'm running a Mac if that changes anything

    I don't think this is a major problem; either you'll be using it in a controlled context (and thus someone made it with the size in mind) or you'll probably have a pickaxe with which you can smooth out a large enough stretch of wall.

    Why not just set the portal item to be a golden hoe in the first place?

    PortalStick does not show up in terminal when the server is started, I am using build 733 and love the plugin, everything works great. Just would like those little things to happen. :) Noticed that it posts numbers in chat to only yourself no one else can see them

    Oh god this is the greatest plugin in the history of plugins.

    Edit: One thing though, if you place a both portals in one area, teleport to another area so the chunks unload, then place both portals again in the new area, the old portal wool openings don't disappear and just become wool with a hole through it.

    I second the idea of defining "test chambers" that ONLY in them can the portal gun and portals be used. I know you can define it per world, and per surface which is superb already. But being able to define test chambers would be even more awesomez!

    I would love to create a whole portal complex, something similar to the game itself (as much as possible lol) but it would help my process if i could define the actual portal chamber. Could borrow from the worldedit idea, use a selection tool to make the area, define it as a test chamber for the portal gun and portals to make sure they are in first.

    Im not sure if you were wanting to keep this plugin as simple as possible, but this would be a great addition! Thanks for all your hard work so far <3

    I second this idea, my users get kinda livid when people put a portal in their wall, given their house is stone :p

    This plugin should only contain the portals, to much rifraf and nobody want it. Take the WorldEdit plugin; I would love it if he removed all those useless commands.. (Butcher, God, Jumpto.. etc)

    Please keep this a clean portal plugin, but of course, add as many features to the portals as possible!
    The update fixed and added most of the wanted stuff, new portal frames remains. I'm sure there is something more to do even if you add that! :)

    This plugin is so great and we build a big world with test-camber on our server :)

    Can you please make the grill-material changeable, we would like to use the portal-stone (90) :D

    I must ask too much of you again, but is it alright if you implement support for Lockette? People on my server can break the sign locks with the portal gun and I like baked beans on toast :(

    you know if you use ice (orange speed gel) and the trampoline plugin (blue bouncing gel) its just like portal 2 :D
    (to get the ice to work really fast you must fall through a portal to take the fall velocity to turn that into speed on the ice)

    Make sure you dont prohibit fire ignition with worldguard or anything like that.

    Would it be possible to tie this in with worldguard regions, would be great have this feature ONLY available in certain regions of a map.

    About the "outside frame teleportation" I've been telling you, I'm going to the depths of it now.

    X = Frame block
    O = Other block
    A = Air
    Y = You (Your player)

    It's a standing portal, lets say we have a flying platform a few blocks away from it and you stand on it, like this:

    Then you run towards the portal, even if you only can see the 1 block wide part of it (You see it from right or left of the opening), you jump towards the standing portal and hit it in the top block like this:

    You will get teleported.

    To everybody else: Update to 1.2 and 740, don't stay behind on the CraftBukkit nor the plugin version. Everything up to date = Everything working!

    im using CB#740
    no errors, but:
    after server restarts some of the Emancipation Grills dont contain cugar cane anymore, so they dont work...
    what can i do?
    using multiple worlds and it seems that they only disappear in one world...

    Can you add an option for closing the portals that have created 30 seconds ago? When we building a portal chapter / map the old players' portals is not closing. So new players cannot open a portal.

    but with the next update can you include commands again?
    just the /p to get rid of portals, its really convenient for testing

    Would it be possible to add a permissions node that disables falling damage for the specific group/person?

    Also, it would be great if you could add some other way of creating the emancipation grills. Having protection against fire causes them to get really buggy.

    Unless you were hoping to use the portal gun to instantly travel large distances with little to no effort? I mean, in that context, with the current portal, it's useless, because I have to walk the entire distance and mine out suitable portal areas anyways. What if I want to use the portal to get out of this giant f-ing hole I just fell in? Or want to get to the top of a huge mountain without hopping and digging my way up? I understand if the creator of this plugin only intends this to be used in controlled testing environments... but wouldn't it be nice if it was flexible enough to do whatever you wanted? And what about the entire second half of the first game, where the whole purpose is moving around outside of the controlled testing environment? If you're staying true to the game, you need to think of that, too.

    I just think that, in a game where the entire purpose is to sculpt anything from nothing; to build absolutely anything you can think of, with ultimate control and freedom, you shouldn't add something which is limited to such exclusive areas. It defeats the purpose, in my opinion, and it's not like minecraft. It's "unnatural," you might say.

    No reason, it just seems a bit more impressive if the line "You just turned your crappy stick of wood into an Aperture Science Portal Device!" actually changed the stick into something, like a golden hoe.

    Changable Fall Protection item, 2x1x1 portals with changable material, and pre-enabled portal item (No command needed)

    I've never had to use a command for my stick to work.

    I was thinking an option for the grid to only get rid or portals. in the time being I'll use that multiworld inventory thing.

    hey I just found a bug... uhm when I get a grill in place, and restart the server... it goes away... is that just for me or is it for everyone...?
