This plugin is still VERY alive.
If you guys haven't heard yet, we're now going to be doing the help on DBO (dev.bukkit.org) Our pages are here:

Feature Requests go in the appropriate Github Issues section. See below.
Post Bug Reports In the thread
or join IRC at #multiverse on EsperNet

    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    The Multiverse Team:
@Rigby90 - The Multiverse God. 'nuff said
    @fernferret - Coding Person. Don't ask him about P2/P3 or Error 199.
@lithium3141 - Utility coder or crazy math dude. You decide.
@main-- - Is this his forum account? Localization person and MV-Adventure dev!

Testers (official I know a bunch of you have helped, thanks!):

    • iConomy, BOSEconomy, RealEcon, Essentials Econ and Item economy support!

    • Other nifty bugfixes
    Version 1.7

    • Skylands is now supported as an Environment/Biome Type
    • The plugin should now support any custom Environment/Biomes which are added to CraftBukkit in the future without an update from Multiverse.

    Version 1.6.4

    • Fixed 0 Price Portals
    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

TGF, maino, aTxT and 58 others like this.

Multiverse doesn't back-up and minecraft handles the saving unless you have plugins installed to do this, so MCMA and Multiverse don't give 2 shits about each other

In other words assuming MCMA is capable of working with multiple worlds then there should be no problems

any ideas on why the mv-portals plugin build is failing on the jenkins server? i'd like to test on my staging server
  4. Offline

This is my #1 cann't do with out plugin :D. However, when I set mobs to false everyone starts regaining health??????? Can the peaceful mode be split into two different options? Some multi-verse have PVP but no mobs enabled. ty

It appears to be having trouble finding/opening the Multiverse-Core.jar (for dependency reasons). You should be able to pull it from github and compile it yourself though (from what I can tell anyways).

  6. Yep, this is correct. My builds are fine, but jenkins is unhappy. Same for NetherPortals. We're working on it.

MV2 has a new variable called "disableautoheal" this should solve your problem when MV2 is released.

I've tried to do this before, and I'm not sure how to get the code into an eclipse project. I've created a new project called Multiverse-Portals, and trying to do Import->Git->Projects from Git, and going through the steps but it doesn't find a project file since there isn't one in the Git repo. Is there something obvious I'm overlooking to just get the code into a new project, or do I have to drag all the files into my new project? I'd like to get it set up where I can just hit a button to pull the latest code... I've searched around and haven't found anything good info on how to get this set up.

I get this error when a mod or admin uses /kick, read from bottom up. The person does get kicked but this error is shown in the console.

    [Server] INFO java.lang.NullPointerException
[Server] SEVERE Could not pass event PLAYER_MOVE to MultiVerse
    [Server] INFO §9[PLAYER_COMMAND] Wellin: /kick awesome_pat
  9. Using the git console:
    1. git clone git://github.com/Herocraft/Multiverse-Core.git
    2. git submodule init
    3. git submodule update
    4. Eclipse -> New Java Project -> Existing Location
    5. Specify the folder that you cloned into
    6. Edit the build pat to point to your bukkit.jar and Multiverse-Core.jar
    7. Right click project folder, Export Jar

Know this: Portals is VERY incomplete. Seriously.

Also all features in MV and its plugins are frozen while I integrate the new bukkit permissions.

Yep, this is known, don't worry about it.

  10. I recently encountered a problem with the plugin... It is either with MultiVerse or MultiInv, but when a player dies on my server, he loses his inventory in every world and is spawned back at the main server spawn. Is there a way to get him/her to just respawn in the world he/she is currently in and ONLY lose their stuff in said world?
  11. Offline

    Thanks, this did it.

I know it's incomplete :p I don't have high expectations so I won't be whining about missing stuff. Do you want feedback on it aside from the missing features?
  12. how can i make a nether portal so that only specific players can go thru it?
  13. Portals: Not yet.

I will be pushing a new build of MV-Core soon. This one will be Bukkit Permissions compatible (so you'll need B1000+ to test it out) and I'm SURE i've broken something, so when that goes up, feedback would be fantastic on that.

    MV2 Update:

MV2 Builds 110+ REQUIRE Bukkit 1000+ Even if you're not using the Bukkit perms.
    - Major changes - add compatibility with Bukkit Perms

Also, as of RIGHT NOW, No MV plugins work with the newest Core. I will be fixing this after lunch.

Hello. Is there any chance you could give a permanent link to your plugin to NoFear13 for his CraftBukkitUpToDate plugin?
Thanks for a superb plugin. This is one of the most important plugins for my server. The only thing that could possibly make this better is custom shape/sized portals. ;)

Okay, here's my problem. Every world except "world" and "world_nether" are corrupt and you can't do crap in them. Help?

try chunkster, but this isnt a problem from multiverse. i ran 6 worlds, corruption can be caused by many things.

@Multiverse can you please add map support for skylands please its our main map! i know that bukkit has addd support for multiworld maps

  29. See:

It's already gone in MV2, so it will not be fixed in MV1 due to the fact that I cannot ever reproduce it, and MV2 is getting very close.

    Nope. I've already stated this:
#1: There will be NO more patches to MV1 1.7.2 is as good as it gets.
#2: Within 1-2 weeks, we will be having people migrating to MV2, which is already in CBUTD

As for the custom sizes/shapes, we will be allowing (currently forcing) you to use WorldEdit as the selection mechanism for Portals. If that supports custom shapes, then they will be able to be made into portals. As for native support (By native I mean without WorldEdit), I doubt this will happen anytime soon, as MV2 is divided into many plugins:

    Core - World Mgmt
Portals - Better style MV1 portals
NetherPortals - Very nifty Netherportals stuff (multiworld netherportals basically)
SignPortals - Throw a sign on a NetherPortal, it takes you to XYZ
