    Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

    People can't log into my 1060 Bukkit Server!:
    Are you using spout? If so, you need to upgrade it to a dev version or disable it until those guys release a 1060 compatible version.

    How do I know if I'm running CB XXXX or higher?:
    Type /version. The number here is your CB version:

    Not sure if I'm just missing something.. But is there a way to actually disable/block the creation of a Nether map, all together? Or by default set the nether map, to a secondary map, instead of the default main map?

    I currently have a Main map, which is basically creative, and regardless how I change the config files, the server always generates a main_nether map. I don't want a nether for the main map, I want a Nether on my isolated Survival map, which is not the main map, it's a secondary map, with a portal to it from the main map.
    Maybe this isn't possible with the new way SMP nether functions, but I hope it is. =/

    Turn off the nether in server.properties and go in to the MV worlds file then delete the nether there
    Now set up the portals as you want them

    My users go through portals just fine, however when I go through them they instantly (no delay) send me to the Nether.

    I have a serious problem.

    We just had a lightning storm and the power was killed to my server. It was eventually restored but MultiVerse was scrambled - so I removed the jar, shut down the server, and then restarted. Good. I then removed the MultiVerse folder, then restored the jar, and restarted the server.

    Unfortunately, it thinks one of the worlds is still there, despite not being in the config file. In addition, no other worlds can be imported! Help! Where the hell else is it storing information on the worlds and how do I clear it?

    Well, if what you say is true, either:
    A. You didn't really delete your config.
    B. You did delete your config, but MV1 auto-imports your "default world" and your "default world"_nether
    C. Multiverse is magical. You should run screaming from your house because the rapture is here.

    Hop in IRC and tell us a tale, and we'll see about helping.

    I turned Nether off in server.properties and created a Nether world with MV and it's allowing me to go through the portals just fine now.

    Thanks, I didn't think to try that.
    Does disabling that mean I can't have a nether map at all? or just on the main map? Can MV still create and use nether maps even with that "false"?
  10. Yes, all disabling that does is turn off the nether autogeneration. That value was added by notch.

    Okay, in IRC we updated my bukkit to the latest and tried a few other things - nothing would drop the map! Still, I made a skylands instead and all of my players are much happier.

    Then I took at my startup ... there were two other plugins that were claiming my skyworld was still there. I shut off the border plugin and that didn't help, but then I updated my Inception plugin and voila, sky world gone! I think what happened was that the Inception plugin loaded first and since my skyworld was listed there it loaded it. Then, Multiverse loaded and didn't put it in its config but when you type /mvlist it doesn't use the config, it calls bukkit instead and asks for the loaded list - my skyworld previously loaded by Inception shows up!

    EDIT: It is working now, all I did was allow listing portals! (I doubt that was the problem, but hey, it works!)

    My 'Default' group can't tp or list worlds.

    Would it be possible, in future revisions, to have the ability to list all world portals with mvplist at the console? As a server admin with a number of world portals in place, it becomes impossible to track them all as there's a set limit on how many are displayed (20 at most). I know that seems like a lot, but they go fast with some projects, and it would be extremely helpful to be able to generate a full list.

    I have entered all the permissions in the Permissions/globalUsers , globalGroups , Users for my wold and Groups for my world but it still tells me: Permissions are not enabled or not found! whats wrong about that?

    /mvpd <portal>
    Permissions has to be set in the actual world. In Permissions folder there should be globalUsers, globalGroups, and your world folders to which have users.yml and groups.yml. You have to add the permissions there, globalUsers/globalGroups don't actually do anything Permissions wise. They just help transfer the content from folder to folder.
    IE: Server Folder>plugins>Permissions>world>groups.yml, user.yml
  19. You can use the FakePermissions thingy, i've been told. But I wouldn't get used to group mgr as I've read several places that it's no longer going to be supported, unless this has changed

    Did you follow the picture in the OP? Are you using worldEdit, There may be a tool conflict.

    Any idea when 2.0 will be finished? Cause I wanna test it out and see if I don't have the chunk loading problem when porting to diff worlds like I do with the current version.

    Hey Guys, I have a problem with multiverse, I get an internal error from multiverse when I'm in the world I'm trying to link.

    Apparently it's a permissions problem, but I'm not so sure.

    I'm head admin with all permissions, so I don't understand why I'm getting this internal error when trying to do /mvpc CreativePortal.

    Looks like your permissions aren't setup correctly:

    The reason that MV is throwing the issue, and not letting you create this is because in MV1, permissions are required so MV asks for permissions, and an error is thrown.

    First, you don't need to add the permissions under permissions in the users.yml, it's just wasted time, you just need the group in there. And second where you add - '-this.is.a.mod' (expample) you don't need the second - after the first '
    That's pretty much what's screwing everything up. Delete the second - in all of the permissions nodes and get rid of the permissions under admin in the users AND groups because '*' includes plugins even if the nodes aren't in any of the other groups. Cause I've got a server restart plugin that no other group has but I can still use it.

    Quick MV2 question!

    Regardless of whether I manually create the worlds.yml file or if I let it generate automatically via in-game commands I get this.

    Why are there two base nodes, one named worlds and the other name world? Also, why is the respawnworld node in both of them? If I import a world, both are generated. Likewise if I manually add a world inside of worlds: when the server is run it automatically creates the world: node. I guess this really isn't a big issue but it is kind of confusing/messy looking.

    Note, the above is an example config. It doesn't make a difference how many worlds there are or how they are added. The result is the same.

    I'm very pleased to report that if you're VERY brave and KNOW YOUR WAY around a yaml file. Portals are starting to work in Multiverse-Portals.

    Right now you can:
    - Create them (/mvp create {NAME} [w:WORLD])
    - List them (/mvpl [WORLD])
    - View the debug output (/mvp debug [on|off])

    If it's not in that list, you can't do it yet :p so don't ask. I'm going to take a break for the night, as I think i've been coding this for about 14 hours today...

    EDIT: We're also over build #100! This means about 100 commits have happened since we released the beta at first, you can think of that as 100 bug fixes :p

    Quick question, I still use McMyAdmin for Saves, world backup and easy console access. I could go off on a tangent about how much I hate it otherwise... But Ill save that for a different time.

    How does Multiverse Play with MCMA? Specifically the world saving and the backup creation?
