An easy way to create shops - no protection plugin needed!​

Requirements:​

- Minecraft server that runs CraftBukkit​

- An economy plugin supported by Register or Vault, for example iConomy, BOSEconomy or Essentials Eco.​

Optional:​

- For additional economy plugin support - Vault​

- For Permissions: bPermissions, PEX, or any other permission plugin​

- For additional protection: LWC, Lockette, Deadbolt ​

- For other item names (aliases): OddItem​

Setup:​

Copy the .jar file from the .zip you downloaded into /plugins folder. ​

You can also copy the example files if you want to generate statistics page. ​

How to create a ChestShop?​

- Place a chest, if you haven't already.​

- Place a sign 1 block near the chest (for example, above the chest)​

- On the sign, write:​

​

(Item name can actually be item ID or alias)​

First line will be filled in by the plugin automatically. ​

Price is a combination of buy and sell price.​

You have to have B near buy price (people buy from you), and S near sell price (people sell to you).​

If you have both B and S, separate them with a colon - : ​

For example:​

​

means that AcrobotPL wants to sell 64 diamonds for 10 currency, and buy them back from you for 5 currency.​

Also, if you put "free" instead of price, it is free to buy or sell ​

- Now, when you finish editing the sign, if LWC is turned on in config, shop will be automatically created.​

Also, if your default protection is turned on in the config, people won't be able to break chest, sign or the block the sign is on.​

What is an Admin Shop?​

Admin shop is the shop that doesn't require a chest, because it has infinite stock.​

If you sell to it, the items will disappear, and if you buy from it, items will magically appear.​

To create one, you have to be Admin/OP. Just put "Admin Shop" (or anything specified in config file) on the first line of the sign.​

Restricting shops to some groups or regions​

You can either use permissions, or you can just put a sign ABOVE shop sign (you need to be in that group to create the sign) to restrict it to players with ChestShop.group.groupName permission ​

The syntax is:​

[restricted]​

3rdGroupName​

Only those groups will be able to use that shop​

To restrict a shop to some regions:​

- If you're using Towny, turn TOWNY_INTEGRATION on. Residents will be able to create shops in economy plots (either their or, if specified in config, any)​

- If you're using WorldGuard, you can use an experimental "chestshop" flag. Turn WORLDGUARD_INTEGRATION on and flag a region. (f.e. /region flag ChestShopRegion chestshop allow) ​

Do you want to limit the maximum prices for items?
Well, there's an app.... wait, not that : P
You can use an experimental feature in ChestShop.
In your config.yml, add lines like:
max-buy-price-5: 14
max-sell-price-5: 15

That means that the maximum price for items BOUGHT by PLAYER is 14, and items SOLD by PLAYER using the shop is 15.

You can also use a global setting, like this:
max-sell-price: 200

That means that the maximum price for items SOLD to PLAYER is 200 (if there is, for example, a max-sell-price-5 found, it will be used instead of the global sell price)

USING SHOPS ​

You could buy and sell by right and left clicking the sign for a long time.​

Now it's the only way to use the shops.​

It's SIMPLE!​

Just LEFT-CLICK to SELL to shop, and​

RIGHT-CLICK to BUY from shop.​

(This can be changed in the config file) ​

DESTROYING SHOPS​

If you want to delete your old shop, simply SNEAK and destroy the sign.​

It's that easy =)​

STOCKING THE SHOPS​

You can either open the chest and stock it up, or click on your own sign - it will open chest's inventory (that way you can have chests not openable by other people for sure ) ​

ItemInfo command​

It's a simple command that shows item information.​

If you use it without any arguments, it shows you information about the item you're holding.​

If you specify item id or item name after the command, it will show you information about that item.​

If something's not working​

You can't change the sign color - that breaks the formatting.​

If that's not the issue, please give me this information, so I can help you faster. ​

I can't create shops at all. I only had iConomy, GroupManager, FakePermissions and iConomyChestShop loaded on bukkit 556 at one time, and it still did not work. I have the newest versions as of right now of each of these.
I have * permissions. The configuration is the default one, so 1 distance, direction down.
There are no errors. It says it loads the plugin properly and there are no exceptions. I just never get a notification that a shop has been created.
I've tried all sorts of configurations with my plugins, and even normal Permissions instead of GroupManager, and it still doesn't work.
My sign is:

I don't know if this is any bit useful for debugging, but I can't find anything else that would be helpful.

Totally nevermind, I was running 0.8, now running 0.96. Didn't update properly.

Hmm when I try to sell Lapiz Lazuli nothing happens.
I use the standard config, bukkiy version 536 and I just upgraded to the newest version of your plugin.

Is it just not possible to sell Lapis Lazuli or..?

For some reason, I can't seem to create a chest shop for TNT, but I can sell other stuff like Brick or Bread just fine. I've tried all sorts of permutations

could you make it so that it uses like: /chest buy and /chest sell?
/buy and /sell conflict with another plugin i have running.

I guess there is no other way then /sell to sell items to a chestshop?
It would be awesome if you would sell the item to the shop if you have it in your hand (and if its the right item)

The 2nd one - and if you have full inventory? I could implement it toggle-able in the config maybe...

After some research, I found that making redstone torch change its state can be hard, it will be implemented when I can set a block as a redstone power source.

Hello, it's a nice plugin, but i have a problem
I'm in Admins group (Permissions plugins), and my permissions is '*'
But when i want to create a chest shop with a other nickname in the first line. But the plugin changes automatically the nickname, with MY nickname :s

I have tried to place 'iConomyChestShop.shop.admin' in my permissions, but same problem..

I use Craftbukkit #556

 

What iConomyChestShop version?
If you use Alpha 6, there is no problem with this.

Hey there,

I'm just wondering, with iConomy you can create other accounts as a admin(In my case a "bank" account, where I want people to be able to trade in their gold ingots for iConomy money).

So I've managed to create myself a "none" player account, but don't know how I can set up a chestshop using a name other then mine(I am a admin).

Hope you can help me with this.

 

correct me if im wrong but if wanted to sell purple wool it will always just say wool on the last line, or red rose dye would say ink_sac? If this is not true, please tell me the syntax for the last line..

Also, I missed the memo on admin shops.
I completely replaced all my localshops with admin chest shops. Less lag and easier to browse visually.

Don't forget this plugin's simplicity, alot of people want things changed - just keep it simple!

Yes, it's like this at the moment, I'll implement OddItem, so you can make aliases and item names like "red wool" etc.
If the plugin's not on the server, it'll default name list.

Also, the plugin will automatically lock signs and the chest with the LWC

 

Oh one other thing.... Is it fixed now that you can buy items from other players even if you dont have that item in the chest? For example set your shop as

It says "You can't buy from this shop", I've just tested it.

Yes, it's been removed at the moment.

 

On a side note, I would love to see the signs default to an admin shop if it can't find the name entered on the first line. I would like to be able to make "Bob's General Goods" instead of "admin shop"

 

I can make admin shop's first line configurable.

No i mean. Ok I want to set a shop up to buy... say Iron for example from other players. Yet I have no iron. So i cant put any in a chest. It used to be that you had to have at least 1 of the item you wanted to buy from other players in the chest. Can i now just make a shop to buy iron from the other players even if I have 0 of that item?
