   Hi,
   
   Is there a plugin or something to make nether portals a custom shape.
   Also, does it really need to be surrounded by obsidian, if there is?

   Pyxis-Craft

   You can always make the form of your portal that you want, then type /stoplag, place portal blocks (ID 90), then type /stoplag -c
