A new CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.6.2 DEVELOPMENT build is now available!

As of this post, we've shifted development over to Minecraft 1.6.2 compatibility and now have development builds available. We strongly suggest that you only use this build if you would like to help us get a Beta build out sooner and are experienced with using unsupported development builds. If you have to ask where or how to get the development build, you should NOT be running it and posts of that nature will be deleted.

WARNING: Minecraft 1.6.2 is an update that requires clients to update before being able to connect. This means that players will not be able to connect to your server if they have not updated to Minecraft 1.6.2.

Will plugins break with this build?
Minecraft 1.6.x has changed how health is stored for entities, which is something plugin developers have been relying on and expecting to never change. Usually a change of this kind would force us to completely break plugins, however, we've managed to come up with a way to support both the old and new health formats without any problems. This means that all the plugins that would have broken from this change will all work fine, giving plugin developers time to update their plugins properly and allowing you to keep your server running without any issues.

While we were busy updating CraftBukkit to Minecraft 1.6.1, we realised that the change to how health is handled would cause a lot of headaches for all our server admins and plugin developers, so we spent a lot of time trying to come up with a better way to handle this than simply breaking all plugins. We hope that all the hours we put into this solution will significantly improve your Minecraft 1.6.1 update experience.

Provided the developers of the plugins you are using are keeping up with the development of Bukkit, all your plugins should work fine. Unless we specifically have to break plugins or the plugins you are using are employing inappropriate practice's, most plugins should work without needing an update whenever we put out a new release.

    What is a Developer Build?
A Developer build is provided AS IS and COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTED. You should only be running these builds if you are completely aware of how to properly make use of them. Support requests of ANY KIND will be removed without warning. If you have to ask where or how to get the development build, you should NOT be running it and posts of that nature will be deleted.

Only the severe end of stream for (ip) screws up the console :D

That could work. My idea was a small client side mod which automatically downloads them, since apparently the server still sends a request to download them, but the client ignores it. maybe its already been done or attempted

I hate to say it, but a lot of people who play minecraft wont bother with downloading and installing things themselves unless its served on a silver platter and done for them

How prevalent is this bug? With my server being a 10 people online MAX at a time, it feels like I could probably trust this build of craftbukkit to work for our needs.

However, the need to kill horses if we place the leash on a post that is near a block sounds like a big enough problem to avoid this build for now.

    Anyone else having that problem?

yeah but the people i invite to play my adventure mode will do cos we are all friends due to whitelisting the server lol

I think all you guys working on Bukkit are really annoying.

I sit on my ass all day, not even bothering to do real life work stuff, and you people spend thousands of hours working on a game for goodness sake.

If we all had you guys working at NASA, we'd all be mining ice on Titan by now. Nothing like Titan ice cubes in a good lemonade.

Is there a fix for it
  11. Works good with every plugin i have on my server, only problem is not being able to open the horse's inventory, it gives you an error, but that's what you get for using a development build.

I can open the horse's inventory. If you're referring to plugin access to the inventory, that's supposedly fixed in the latest build.

Jeez you guys are fast. It takes me 3 months to finish a new build of a TF2 achievement server map, yet you lot have it done in 3 days...

Nice Job ! But I think I've found an error , bukkit will not save the Level.dat or anything else in the world folders but still loads the world I have no idea if that is just me or its a universal thing I just thought Id put that out there.

Woah! We sure are getting fast! Well done.

Not yet, we need to add /playsound and /spreadplayers first!

Can't wait for the recommended/beta build. My server is still on 1.5.2 and only a few players play there because of the wait. :( Hope it gets ready soon so I can update and bring people back in!

Is there any know data on which the bukkit build for private servers will be released?
  18. Offline

There is only one CraftBukkit server (and Bukkit API) maintained by our team. We do not distribute anything to private servers that isn't also distributed to public servers.

Thanks again Bukkit team. Wish I could be of help in some way.

Is there any idea as to when hosted servers like will be able to use the crashbukkit server type? Currently only the 1.5.2 version will work and if you update to 1.6.x you lose all your plugins as a result.

Good job Bukkit team.Any ETA for when support for item attributes and /playsound will be added?

That question is better posed to

So the current release should function with their servers, they just haven't been able to figure out how to deploy it yet?
  24. Offline

It's probably a policy issue (not a technical one) regarding development builds.

I understand that there is only one build which is distributed to the public, what i meant was when is the non-development build being released?

I don't know if this is an issue or not..but I did add quite a bit of attributes to an armor set. I created a plugin to read the lore of the armor and look for a line containing the durability count of the armor, and then change the durability if it goes down - basically, ripping off then re-attaching the item meta for the item. However, the attributes were removed in the process. Don't know if that's an error with my coding, or with CraftBukkit. If it's an error with my coding.. I have no clue how to fix it. If it's an error with CraftBukkit, could someone let me know? ((I use "error" loosely, it may not be an error either way))

Why do these build update posts never contain a link to the build?
  28. Offline

From the first post inthe thread: "If you have to ask where or how to get the development build, you should NOT be running it..."

i found an issue, i tried to make an item detection system where a command block removes an item form your inventory and if it is successful it does something else, this works with a comparator linked to a command block and a bunch of scoreboard stuff, this worked in past versions of bukkit but now it does not, its because the command block is still removing items even if they aren't there instead of failing to find like it should

MauroB A non-developmental build will be released whenever the Bukkit Team feels they have a stable enough (and mostly bug-free) build.
