    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

@MatrixJ21: 5.0 works with factions. Add the {FACTION} tag (or whatever you have chatTagReplaceString set to in your factions config) to your message formats.

Do anyone know of a plugin (that works with HC) that has some kind of auto-leave feature?

Example: I have a three seperated worlds. One RPG, one Creative mode and one spawn. When someone use the teleporter from spawn that goes to RPG i want the to auto-leave the spawn channel and auto-join the RPG one.

Thank you so much for help!

(also, if there arent any plugins like this, someone should request it (i am to lazy to make an account on Redmine))
  11. You can write a function to disable the use of the command / tell?

Why then, using the distance in the chat, if you lose then you can use the / tell.

    Thanks and best regards.

you can set it up in permissions (im pro in permissions!) that the group, that is in the local channel xant use the command.
anyway, you can edit the classes and the plugin with eclipse and remove the list command; but when you update it will be overwrite
  13. Hmm... this appears to work on latest bukkit... but it doesn't show as up-to-date...

has anyone encountered issues regarding HC in latest builds of CB?

    herp a derp...

looked at the bukkitdev page, and saw that that page is semi-updated...

But i'm testing this with permissionsbukkit (and ofcourse SuperpermsBridge along with it), but i'm having problems with the config for prefixes/suffixes...can anyone provide example that would work with this setup? (herochat + Permissionsbukkit )

hey im master in permissions (okay, im not using bukkitpermissions but ofcourse im one of the best) and if you need help, just ask me, to the problem more exactly, you should send me your configurations from permissions and HC okay?

I cant really see any reason why Herochat wouldn't pick up the prefixes/suffixes, unless permissionsbukkit has it organized so HC doesn't read it right... :/

I have the permission as admin for Herochat (so permission nodes work fine)... it just seems the prefix/suffix stuff isn't being recieved... (most plugins i see have prefix/suffix stuff built into the plugin)

i see... i think theres a problem with the auto deafult channel joining - that means: just try ingame "/ch join Global (yourworldname)" the say me what happens when you write something in the chat.
watch out, you mustnt be in ANY other channels, only then, the global channel is your main and speaking channel okay?

Help! I use Hero Chat On My Server. My Friend Muted Some one Before We Got Hero Chat, Using Essentials.
And When I try To Unmute The Guy Who Got Muted it Doesn't Work Plz Help!
  18. Offline

herochat eats up the /mute and the /help (!!!) command from essentials. me and my co admin still works on that heavy problem...
    for you i would say:
    save and then remove HC.
    restart server.
    unmute the guy
    put HC on again
    restart server

Thanks A Ton You Saved The Guy From Leaving The Server For Forever :D

  20. The channels are working fine... i've used herochat, and have been running servers for about a year now...
my problem, is the personal prefixes (such as a player, or a group, is supposed to have a prefix that says [admin] before them)... THOSE prefixes dont work.
  21. Offline

    and i mean them.
so, i think the problem is permissionsbukkit - not because it have a error- it isnt compatible with herochat
i would switch to normal permissions or even groupmanager (it works but permissions is still better)
here is the link for the recommend build. i help you if you want. permissions is the best plugin for a official server.
  22. permissions is discontinued, and about 36 of my plugins no longer support it...

I agree, permissions was a great plugin, but if you have been around at all, it is finished (tis why they locked the topic).
I bet a LOT of people would appreciate if you didn't direct people to use a discontinued and unsupported plugin. (i haven't seen anyone picking that up, mainly because Permissionsbukkit has done a good job replacing permissions... which, it also has a secondary addon of sorts, that is essentially permissions itself... )...

Either way, i would like to know from someone who actually knows a bit about the 2 systems and their differences to see if its possible to have prefixes in permissionsbukkit.
  23. How it works, using the permissions?

The PEX permissions.yml, I added a line like this:

But also can use the command / tell.

Is there a tag for showing your hero class in 5.x branch? i got the prefix working with simple prefix, the faction tag with {FACTION} is there one for heroes?

Edit - Upon further evaluation simpleprefix rapes the format and makes it not work, so i removed it. Now my hero chat formatting show up. How ever i think we should be able to use a over ride {Heroes} tag so we can move it, or at least space it from the name (driving my OCD insane).

So its [Adept] Majorcyto instead of [Adept]Majorcyto gah makes me go crazy. Everything else is good though.

Edit 2 - So i don't use bPerms, and SimplePrefix rapes the chat format of herochat. That being the case and after searching 15 pages of chat plugin's i have not found another prefix plugin. Does this leave me screwed lol? There is a API for simple prefix you could take a look at though to make it compatible?

there are many plugins like this one who can make prefix suffix with permissions and without... just enter "prefix" in the bukkit search bar and klick around for the right plugin for you. sorry but I cant help you anymore without permissions...

sure your not op and in the right group? check it please. and if this wont work remove even the bukkit /tell permissions (why do you need it?).

I need some help... No matter what I do I cannot get myself permission to talk in the channel [staff] any ideas?
  28. Sorry for my ignorance, but ... As I can remove the permission / tell of bukkit?

I need to remove it, that use the option herochat distance, but with the command / tell people talk regardless how far you are.

    Thanks and best regards;)

but just think on it: you just have to remove the permissions bukkit.commans.tell and herochat.tell (or something like that) and then nobody in that group can talk over your max distance
if you have problems with pr, just say it to me, i can fix it most time

maybe it can be that i dont understand your question rightly cause im german with not so great english ;)
but i do my best to help you with your problem
sometimes you must explain it two times :D

I mean no offense to either of you.. but I don't think his English is any better than yours ;)

What I understand him to be asking is this: Is it possible for HeroChat to override bukkit.command.tell based on target proximity so he can prevent members from chatting with people that are too far away. That said, I also wonder if it will override commandbook.msg.

If you want to prevent private chatting altogether you can always disallow bukkit.command.tell

it would be really nice if i could configure what rank you need to have to access a group and what prefixes and suffixes mods and admins have the "@" and the "*" from within permissions.yml since thats where all the rest of the permissions nodes go.

also how do i disallow bukkit commands/plugin commands from any rank and from the console and just make it universally disallowed?

as for my prev post. is there a way to switch the join and speak permissions from picking a certain group (and also where does it define what group you are in? and does inheritance mean you could join the group if you inherited mod or admin?) to be a permissions node instead? or does it have to be a group?
