Looking for one too, i want a backup plugin that: 1. Can save the world map to another harddrive. 2.That delete maybe X-days old backups. 3.Doenst know if the backup progress makes it lagg ingame, if it does.. I would may send a messege to all players about that the server are backuping the world..
This is best done by means of a perl script, not a plugin. I have this on my server as a perl based wrapper around hey0 or bukkit, and it watches the chat output for the !backup command by an admin.. then ti just tars/zips the world and tells everybody what its doing.
Not exactly, feverdream. A plugin would be much more user-friendly for new Bukkit users looking to get their server off the ground. Setting up a Perl script can be too much of a hassle, but with a plugin, it will automatically load, and work without user interaction.
