Hello, i am running a smp pvp server with my friend with all sorts of fun but not a single player have joined yet even though we added the server to 15 websites. People just aren't interested, if your friend can join then it isn't a connection/server issue. Give it time.
Dude, my other friend tryed adding hes server to 1 of the sites, and bam 8 people joined within 10 seconds.. We added it to 15 sites within 30 seconds without a single person.
Maybe the way you're coming across in your ads, take it down, build an attractive spawn site, stick some useful (and basically necessary mods) into it and readvertise with a video and some screenshots, remember, sales isn't about selling a product, it's about selling yourself, if you can project the effort you put into your server without actually saying it, the people will come.
I dunno, it looks fine. Although it's a saturday night + most people are out or just getting home, give it time lol.

Does your spawn have a 1 thousand block citadel and have a monument? coz servers like the voxelbox and fyreuk is what minecrafters keep coming for awesome builds good people and making effort into your server that you have invested upon not people who are jerks.
Its not super big and such, but since i changed ip, no1 joins. I moved from daddycheese bcuz of lag. (They could not fix it) And now 0 players join. THOUGH we submited the ip to 15 sites.
=_= Youre investing on a server that only has you and your friends on, you need to advertise ALOT there are many minecraft servers out there than there are players. Make a YouTube channel and advertise there, to to the MC forums and do that there, and make a project were people want to join, make a server objective. and since you said that your friend is banning people who join dont you think he/she might be the cause of the issue at hand here?
I have a youtube channel i advertis on I did make several forums. I wrote ''And bam as in in a matter of seconds people joined'' nothing about a ban. We have lots of events. MobArena, war, spleef etc,etc!
bam ban. It takes time once you have the popularity people will start to join you, and if they feel like it is not within their interest they leave so i suggest that you take it slow keep advertising *but dont over advertise* know your specific audience, and find a way to grab their attention. Open the door for them, and let them decide whether to go through it or walk away.
The major problem is that i only submited my old ip on planetminecraft with 1 picture and 2 lines of info. Then the server would get full within 5 min. Here not even a single person has joined over the last 3 days where it has been subbed to 15 websites.
