First off, let me say that I love this utility.
It has saved many of my worlds from being totally gone.

Anyway, I thought I would show you what I have done to your batch file that executes the program.
I've messed around with it for a little bit and posted what I have created on GitHub.
    (Check out the Chunkster.exe file)

It is basically just the batch file that I modified + the Chunkster.jar combined to simplify things and make it easier.
(I also added a backup utility)

Keep in mind that I haven't tested this all that much, so there may be a few bugs.

The Chunkster.exe is the main file (it contains both the batch file and the Chunkster.jar file)

I fixed my world with chunkster but I kept recieving the same crashes. Having to restart. Looking up my error I allways find it points to "use Chunkster" can someone take a look at my world and see if they can fix it.

Heres a .zip file to my world. warning though its 500mb. http://www.fileserve.com/file/HUCvX4f/2011-11-26_16-20-09.zip

I will love you forever if you manage to find the problem. I dont wanna start a new map! :(

Is there a possiblility of chunkster taking the path of a backup, so that if it finds a messed up chunk and it really can't fix it, then it can at least revert back instead of regenerate from scratch?

I have uploaded a corrupt map for you :)
    http://massivecraft.com/ceardia_corrupt_bak.zip
Chunkster v0.3 can not repair this one.

This is the fresh broken map. I made the backup before running chunkster v0.3 using:
    Code:
    java -jar Chunkster.jar ceardia
The server is running Minecraft 1.0.0 using CraftBukkit 1529 (non recommended build).
The issue I experience is the same as the one @matthew_goodman reported here.
    Also mentioned here: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/ed...anagement-bukkitdev.3707/page-188#post-828267

The server does not manage to start up. It hangs when trying to load the corrupted world.
    Code:
    .......
13:07:13 [INFO] Preparing start region for level 4 (Seed: 556938607)
13:07:13 [INFO] [DimensionDoor] Applying world configuration: binral
13:07:13 [INFO] [DimensionDoor] Applying world configuration: world_the_end
13:07:13 [INFO] [StreetLamps] loaded 0 LampController for ceardia
13:07:13 [INFO] Preparing start region for level 5 (Seed: 6923631351103043513)
    ^C13:07:36 [INFO] Stopping server
As you can see I killed it with CTRL-C after it standing still for 23 seconds.

If you could find a solution for this I'd be glad ^^

I just created a bug report:
    https://bukkit.atlassian.net/browse/BUKKIT-119

I have created a utility that accomplishes this feature. (It has Chunkster built into it)
I tried to make it relatively simple to use.
You have to type in the correct directory/file names but that is about it.

For easiest use... put the Chunkster.exe in the same directory as your world file.
(This way you can leave the Source Path empty as it will use the current directory)

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

i know you said you arent fixing maps anymore because so many ppl ask without trying to use chunkster first, but i tried using chunkster twice and it didnt work. i dont have any errors of the map, its simply that the server hangs when multiverse attempts to load the map. do you have any idea how to fix this or maybe you would be willing to help me fix it?

This saved my bacon tonight. I've been running a vanilla server while waiting for the new bukkit to drop, and haven't bothered with a backup script. A brief power flicker rebooted the server, corruption happened, and I got hit with the infinite "Wrong Location" errors bug. After trying a bunch of older fixes (editing level.dat in NBTedit, moving player files away, etc) this was the thing that finally worked.

    Thanks.

I have a corrupted map that Chunkster can't seem to fix. Continues throwing gzip errors after running.
<Edit by Moderator: Redacted mediafire url>
If it can't be repaired, Is there a way to find out which chunks are causing the errors and delete them?

Thank you so much I had to create a Bukkit account to tell you.
Some people say not to get too attached to a world but it's almost impossible
I had an infinite number of Severe errors stuff after a computer freeze.
    Now, it's ALL gone [diamond]:D

I get this message when I type my directory in:
"chunkster: region pointer repair utility v0.1
usage: java -jar Chunkster.jar < world directory "

Well, I just want to say thanks for this, you saved my server map... but now, in the chunk that was repaired, there are about 2 million cows... that just spawned... How do I get rid of these entities? It is creating massive lag...

Tried this without any luck I'm afraid.

This is the console output: http://pastebin.com/kb3X2EGs

    It finally stops here:-
I'm able to load this world, but it crashes the server if you goto certain regions.

My other world does the same thing also

Edit: Problem solved, I loaded both worlds with MCedit and it automatically removed the corrupted/missing chunks.
