As soon as I upgraded to version 1.1, it started snowing in this forested area that we've worked really hard to build up, and we don't know why. But the snow makes it look really ugly, and it's freezing all the water.

Do you have an idea why this happened, or how we can make it so that it rains in the area like normal again instead of snowing?

This is not a bug with Bukkit but with Vanilla Minecraft. Some snow biomes did not snow before, however 1.1 fixed this.

Even so, is there any way I can do something like set up the area so it doesn't snow anymore? With a plugin, world/region editor or something? I really do not like this, the region was perfect for what we wanted before.

If this is Minecraft's fault, then I feel that the developers of Minecraft are being extremely insensitive to what they break with each new version, and disregarding the investment that many players make into their worlds as they are. :(

Do I need to start a new thread, can this one be moved, etc? I'm not sure if this would go in Bukkit help anymore.

Make a plugin request [WGEN]. I don't think this has been done before.

I use worldedit and there is a thaw command, maybe that could thaw the whole snowing thing? Idk.

You could do this using WorldGuard (or at least it should work, I never tried that by myself):
    1. Create a WorldGuard Region that covers the whole Biome
    2. Set the 'ice-form' flag for the region to 'deny'
    3. Set the 'snow-fall' flag for the region to 'deny'
    4. Then remove all snow (for example like ironliondoor said using WorldEdits /thaw command) and ice (I couldn't find any command to do this in WE, so I guess you'd have to do this manually)
This should prevent snowing in that region and stop new ice beeing formed.

I saw another post here, with the same problem... This is Minecrafts 'fault', the biome code was changed, there is no thing that can solve this problem (according to Bukkit Administrator)...

I had exactly the same thing! I found some thing, I am gonna test now. You can also test. These plugins may help:
    -ToughMelt
    -NoSnow
(-seasons, but already test that. It gives me an error)

IT WORKED! ToughMelt and NoSnow should fix your problem!
