How to display a minecraft status ?

    Hello world,
    I'd like to know how to display on my website (with a PHP script) if my server is ONLINE or OFFLINE.
    My server is running with a port forwarding.
    Do I need a plugin for allowing the ping of my server from the web or whatever...
    I accept all ideas !

    All you need to do is open a connection to the server and check if it gets through. I know nothing about php, but I would assume it shouldn't be too hard.
