Alright guys, I'm still using the old Permissions and HeroChat so my Members get the [Member] Tag, guests get [Guest], etc.

I'm incredibly ready to switch from Old Permissions to the one build into Bukkit.

Could someone please help me do that? Link me to resoucres, etc.
Will I be able to ideally do the same thing I'm doing with the old Permissiions? When a user joins they can't build / destroy and they're a guest. Then I can add them as a member and they have all the permissions given.

If someone would like to ideally help me 1 on 1 I could offer $5 because I don't have the time to screw around with yml's and troubleshoot and I have a server full of people waiting for me.

Thanks a bunch for anyone who can help and or steer me in the right direction.

Post your old permissions file on www.pastebin.com and then download PermissionsEX.

    Just downloaded PermissionsEx

What should I do now? (I haven't put anything on my server or removed the old permissions yet -- I'm kinda a noob and won't do anything until you tell me xD)

Ok, I looked at both of your files. Although they both have some extra things that you really don't need, they both work and you are just going to keep them.

Before you do anything, make a backup of your plugins folder (just in case).

Now, while you are going through all of these steps, your server will not really be usable, however, if everything goes well, your down time should be less than 2 minutes.

Now that you are prepared to have 2 minutes of server downtime and you have a backup of your plugins folder, shutdown your server and delete Permissions.jar which will be in your plugins folder. Also delete the folder called Permissions which is in your plugins folder. Then, move the 4 jar files in the PermissionsEX.zip package into the plugins folder. Start your server, wait for it to finish starting up, and then turn it off again. Open up the folder called PermissionsEX and replace the file called permissions.yml with the file that I attached (Replace permissions.yml with the permissions.yml file inside of the zip folder). Then start your server again and everything should work. However, you are guaranteed to have problems (just because). So, if/when you do have problems, post a complete list of all your plugins and what your problem is and I will help you out.

How will I know if it's working? Because since I read that PEX doesn't have Prefix's I won't see my [Member] [Guest] etc. (I used HeroChat)

That's incorrect, PEX does have prefixes. It's not your only option though if you want herochat support - you can check out bPermissions also as an option, it's a unique take on things :3

Oh, so I can have [Guest] and stuff without HeroChat at all?

You don't need herochat for that - but what i'm saying is if you want to continue using herochat bPermissions will support this.

    "codename_B" "bPermissions" Coincidence? :D

Also I did what @Supersam654 said and I have only the permissions plugins (the 4 from the zip) on the server.
When I talk I see <VeryInsane> Test not the prefix? If it's suppose to be like that.. then how do I know if it even worked?

Open up the folder called ChatManager (under your plugins folder) and set enable: true. You might need to slightly tweak the message format a little bit, however %prefix will show that group's prefix, %player is the player's name, and %suffix is that group's suffix.

    @Supersam654

You didn't respond for a while so I started using bPermissions

Sorry that I had to eat dinner :p.

But don't worry about it. bPermissions will work fine, just if you have any questions, I highly recommend that you ask @codename_B because he is on most of the time.
